My wide feet are so much more comfortable in these for my fast distance walking and standing around than every single pair of New Balance I have bought for well over a decade and a half.Another positive is the sole material is built to last and doesn't wear down after a new months whereas NB changed their soles (all but one pair of my many clearly to ensure we needed to constantly replace our shoes. Due to residual foot spacicity I wear down the left heels of shoesI've been caught in many Florida torrential rain storms and my feet STAY COMPLETELY DRYI do use an orthodic arch supports as I had too with many NB shoes

Great little shoe
True to size (10 1/2 M). Love this silver sneaker and will get lots of wear out of them. Very comfortable, and looks great! Good arch support. Comfortable for walking. Priced right! The Easy Spirit Romy has become my athletic shoe of choice. This is my 5th pair now, and I find them very comfortable for walking, hitting the gym, shooting hopes, shopping, and everyday wear.

Comfortable, but snags even before worn
These walking shoes are predictably comfy, as is always the case in my experience with Easy Spirit. They don't disappoint in either fit or comfort!Much to my surprise, though, fresh out of the box I could see flaws in the workmanship, or perhaps handling before it got to me. There were loose strings, and most notably, quite a few snags in the fabric. Over the right toe area they are very visible and I marked that area with a red circle. It's not the only section with snags, though.Most people won't be examining the wearer's shoes up close, so this may be a non-issue for some consumers. A bigger concern is that it is already has pilly snags on the fabric before use, how will it wear over time? If I saw these in a shoe store or shoe department, I would pass on buying them since I'd be worried about how normal wear and tear would manifest itself after 6 months.Since I have them I will use and enjoy them - and hope that they hold up better than feared.

These shoes are listed as "orthotic friendly" but I didn't realize that means that they will require an insole. The interior is completely flat and devoid of any support at all, so I had to order some insoles to provide some arch support. Not a big deal, and now I have better arch support than I probably would have had otherwise, but it would have been better if I had known before, so I could have gotten them at the same time.I noticed some other complaining about the shoes arriving with snags in the fabric. Those are not snags, they are slubs in the fabric. It is the design of the fabric and it is woven that way, with some thick spots in the threads, by design. It is not a flaw, it is just the way the fabric is. I have no worries about the fabric snagging in the future.
