Extremely comfortable, fairly warm and definitely waterproof. Last week I wore them with wool winter socks and my feet didn't sweat, unlike what happens with my other waterproof shoes. Goretex is definitely not a gimmick, it does work as advertised.Besides all that, Ecco is a name brand, very popular in Europe and not cheap at all. The price on this item is seems much lower than what those retail in Europe, it feels like a bargain.
I have found that Ecco shoes are very consistent with sizes and work well with my very narrow feet.

A little difficult to put on/ take off. Correct size (9-9.5) for me, feel good while wearing.
Excellent shoes. I use them to run on trails. I went for high ankles as I was getting leaves and small stones into my trail shoes. These work very well. Also, they are pretty good in cold weather as well. They fit comfortably, and the soles provide good support.
I cannot WAIT - to get my replacement pair! I need an entire size smaller than the 10-10.5 that I've been wearing all these years in other footwear. If you're an 11, order a 10. Here is my concern; I just went to buy the next size down, and you want $60 more? Please help me understand, and thank you much.
