Almost bulletproof (definitely waterproof)
I have two other pair of golf shoes by major manufacturers - one of them is pretty affordable with Boa laces - easy on and easy off and relatively waterproof. The other is more sneaker-like and claims to be waterproof but, in reality, is more water-resistant than anything. Plus, with a mesh outer covering that brand shows dirt all the time and the mesh makes it difficult to get all of the dirt out. That said, they are super comfortable. So, I wanted a pair that was the best of both worlds - waterproof and comfy and easy to clean. Having owned Ecco dress shoes in the past (and knowing how durable they are), and knowing their reputation for being waterproof, I felt it was worth it to give these a shot and add a really well-made shoe to my lineup. These shoes are built like a tank. The first time wearing them they felt just a bit stiffer than my mesh shoes. But they quickly break in so that wasn't a problem. Mind you, they are not quite as comfortable as my sneaker-like shoes, but definitely more waterproof. They feature nice arch support without being overly "archy". I normally wear a 9 1/2 shoe and I ordered these in their 9-9.5 size. They fit just right. My foot is just a tad bit on the wide side and I am glad to say these aren't too tight through the middle. There's plenty of room in the toe box as well. While these don't feature spikes on the sole they do have a pretty aggressive pattern on the sole so I do not anticipate slippery slopes being any kind of problem. I ordered the Gravel/Black combo and I really do like the subtlety of the look of the shoes. If you are used to wearing a sneaker-type golf shoe these are just a bit heavier than the sneaker versions. I recently played an early round on a humid morning and wished that I had these shoes in my possession (hadn't ordered them yet) because the grass was filled with morning dew. With the Ecco's water is not an issue - they breathe well but keep my tootsies nice and dry.It is worth checking the price on Amazon for different color combinations in your correct size because I found the price of these shoes varies significantly based on the color that you choose. These gravel/black versions were priced 40% less than some of the other colors in the same shoe.

well built, comfortable for walking
I'm a bigger person and play golf with a mixture of walking/riding a cart. I would recommend these to anyone looking for an all around good waterproof golf shoe.Fit: These Ecco shoes have a pretty significant arch to them and they lean more to the supportive side than the softer side as far as cushioning goes (like sketchers, highly cushioned running shoes). I tend to enjoy more cushioning but I think for walking the golf course and stability in the swing, I was very pleasantly surprised how much I love these shoes. I liked them so much I might rethink my philosphy in my other shoes as well. My feet felt tired after a round but nowhere near what they usually do.Looks: Not everyone is going to love the look but I found them to very nice. The only thing i don't care for is how the tread yellowed almost immediately.Materials: Ecco waterproofing is no joke and these seem very solid after one season of use. The leather is soft and comfortable. It's not as breathable as non waterproof shoes and I was thinking that maybe they would be too hot in the summer. I think they function okay though. I chose waterproofing over breathability. Eventually I may add a day weather breathable summer shoe to the mix.Traction: I haven't ever noticed a loss of traction in these after a season of wear.

Just quality shoes. Not cheap but nothing good is. Comfortable and last for at least 1-2 years.

Great waterproof shoe
For a much anticipated trip to Ireland for golf and a lot of research of the best waterproof and COMFORTABLE shoes I decided purchase these shoes. You get what you pay for. I received the shoes and broke them in during a few rainy and dry rounds here in the Midwest. They were so comfortable and kept feet dry during several round of walking golf in both wet and dry conditions. I would like to point out a couple of things. These shoes are NOT lightweight. I believe the beefy soles that give you GREAT support and comfort add to heft. Regardless, probably the most stable and comfortable shoes I have in my wardrobe of various golf shoes.Another call out about these shoes is that with all the comfort and waterproofing you may not want to wear these on overly hot days. We have heat index days here in the Midwest that are well into the 90’s and 100’s. Leave these shoes at home on those days and busy it your lightweight shoes!I love these shoes and the comfort and performance so much I bought a second pair for my trip to Ireland.Unfortunately, it only rained for 12 holes during my Irleand trip but walking in the same pair of shoes for 6 consecutive days was a slice of heaven in these comfortable dry shoes!Highly recommended. Cheers!

Very Comfortable Shoe
I bought this brand after reading many great reviews about them. The only problem I had here in Los Angeles was that every shoe store, sports store or golf store didn't carry the Ecco Brand; so I could not try them on before purchase. So I followed the instructions on sizing on the Ecco web site. I normally wear a 9 in Nike or Adidas. With Ecco, I am an 8/8.5 (42) which ran larger than my other shoes when they arrived. The shoe feels great. Narrow in the heal and wide in the front for the toes to spread out. About a half size larger than any of my other shoes. I will let you know what it feels like in later reviews when I take them on the golf course. I chose Ecco because with Nike the soles keep separating from the shoe after about 6 rounds in hot weather. Adidas seem to shrink after a while when you sweat in them after a while.
