the stalwart that makes ECCO what it is.
I have been using this shoe as my all around shoe for everything since the early 90s and it is super comfortable and good looking and they last for a long long time. I like echo as a company for more than this shoe as well. In fact I got a 3 quarters version of this shoe -- like a hiking high top and it was simply the most comfortable and most reliable shoe it stopped a snack bite attack on my lower ankle and it is light its great in wet environments and it easily accommodates standard or custom orthotics. the low top is like having a good looking street shoe that would due as a hiking or athletic shoe in a pinch. in short its one of the best most comfortable and durable all purpose shoe designs I have ever seen. I know that about a decade ago they tried to phase out this shoe design both low and high top design and they got such an unbelievable and awful back lash they reversed themselves before they had even fully implemented the study. -- Ecco is not a cheap shoe and buying on amazon is a good place to buy it because if one is savvy they can on occasion get price breaks on their shoes. I got a pair of mine 50 dollars less that their normal retail price because an amazon third party partner decided to blow out back stock. I also heard from ecco that they do run occassional sales so if you buy this shoe and end up loving it as much as many people do, go get on the ecco website mailing list and if you read their announcments you will have opportunities to buy this shoe and others at good deals from time to time. But even at full price I would say you are paying for a better shoe with a better design than many that it could be compared to on the market.

Good thing I didn't order 44 EU (10 - 10
You might want to order a size smaller than you think. I wear size 10.5 in Asics running shoes. I ordered size 43 EU (9 - 9.5 US) based on some research I did beforehand. Good thing I didn't order 44 EU (10 - 10.5 US). There is still about 1/2 to 3/4 inch remaining in the toe box and my toes don't feel compressed at all. I don't know what would happen if I were to exchange them for an even smaller size. I don't want to go through the hassle, plus the 43 is fine and comfortable. First impression, the shoes are beautiful and well made. The label under the tongue says "Made in Slovakia". I am a tad OCD and the shoes pass my personal quality control inspection. I noticed some differences though between the pictures and what I received. The GORE-TEX logo on the side is slightly different and does not have the stitching that goes around the logo; the leather insoles are slightly different; and the "ecco" underneath the shoe is not black. All minor aesthetic differences that most people would not even notice. I surmise that those changes are newer updates to the shoe, or perhaps an older variation, or depends on where they are made. Regardless, the functioning of the shoe has not been compromised in my opinion. Lastly, I was wondering if there was a difference between Bison/Bison vs. Bison. From what I gather, there is no difference. I ordered and received the Bison/Bison (Style 001944, Color 00741). To my surprise and delight, they look like the Bison version which is also sold on Amazon, i.e., darker looking color and darker laces. Depending on the lighting, the color of the shoes and the laces appear different. So, enjoy and if you can find your size at a good price, then jump on it.

Fabulous shoe that has it all! Comfort, durable and waterproof too!
I'm on my second pair of theses shoes and the first pair lasted me 15 years so I guess I will not be to harsh for the fact that the soles gave out first, but the uppers were ready for another 15! Yes I wish the manufacturer would do something about those hollow soles that crumble at the edges and fall apart in time, a material flaw actually, but, reasonable life span and such comfortable shoes I bought another pair. Well designed and beautifully made.

My choice for best all-around shoe, ever!
This is the fourth pair of ECCO Track II shoes I have had and I will continue to buy them until they stop making them. They are extremely comfortable, very well built, perfect in any weather rain, shine, snow or ice, and even seem to offer superior traction on slippery surfaces, such as ice and wet floors. While this is my fourth pair, that covers a period of over ten years where I have continuously worn these shoes. Each pair has lasted at least 2 and some 3 years of me wearing them all winter in Minnesota or Michigan and during rainy days the rest of the year. ECCO clearly understands how to make a shoe comfortable. These shoes, as well as the other ECCOs I have, fit with the comfort of a slipper, the security of a snug hiking boot and make each step feel as if you are walking on clouds. While, in re-reading this review, I agree it seems a bit over the top, it is completely sincere and aligned with my experience with this product and my belief that they are the best shoe you will ever own.

Decent but Make sure you do your research before you buy
I use these on a daily basis and after a few months the inside of the heal area it already worn, the fit at the top of the foot isn’t comfortable and the comfort of the arch support lasted about a month. The shoe is well made other than that. Probably would buy this particular one again but would try the boot next

Comfortable and durable
I'm pretty easy on shoes even though I give them a workout. I walk about 3 miles a day and do a 5-mile once a week. The ECCO Track II is my go-to shoe because they provide support, fit my feet perfectly and are comfortable to wear all day. I have really flat feet, and when I discovered ECCO shoes about 20 years ago, I won't buy anything else: the footbed is perfect for me. I bought my second pair of Track IIs even though there's still plenty of life in my first pair. I was afraid that after making the Track II for 25 years that ECCO might discontinue the model. They have "updated" the shoe and call it the Track 25 now to celebrate the anniversary, but I'm so happy with the Track II that I found and bought them instead of the newer version ... sort of an investment pair.
