ECCO SHOES STEEL NUBUCK
These shoes are very comfortable to wear, and they look great. They cost more than some other brands, but I believethese were a very good choice to buy for a quality shoe. The only thing that wasn't quite right, was the color of theshoe on the Amazon website which is called Steel Nubuck, was not what I received. The web photo shows the color tolook like a light brown with a black sole. What I received was a gray pair with a gray sole. I decided to keep theseas I can wear these with different things.

Stylish
I ordered these shoes because they were Ecco shoes and the way they looked. When I opened the box, I didn't like the look and when I put them on I didn't like the shoe tongue being so tight. Now that I have worn them for a week, I like the way they look and I like the tightness of the shoe tongue. For the first few times I put these shoes on it was rather difficult to insert my feet in the shoes, because I have a high instep, but after a few days I had no problems and I like the way the shoes fit and feel. I believe I could actually wear these shoes without lacing them. The shoes are very comfortable and soft. I have no complaints with these shoes.

Not the usual Ecco quality
Bought these for my hubby and our trip to Europe. He is a huge fan of Ecco products and wears their casual shoes and golf shoes. So, I bought these Ecco’s for the trip, knowing he likes this brand and it is usually good quality. Well the first day he wore them two of the rings at the shoelace entrance (not sure what that is called) fell out! Disappointing. They fit well and look good but we expect better from Ecco.

Comfortable and stylish
I wear these for both casual and business casual events. They are super comfortable and also stylish. And are very good walking shoes with durable soaIs. I tried a trick on these during a weeklong rain event. I spayed WD-40 without silicon all over them wiped with a shop towel and it made them waterproof and it darkened the leather a little which was an even better look, darker brown. Since then I’ve used WD-40 several more times with absolutely no issues of harming the shoes

Too narrow in toe box
I own several pairs of echo shoes and I'd always been a fan of Eccos as I thought they were well made and very comfortable. I suppose the construction quality is okay on this pair too. However, Ecco doesn't seem to be able to figure out how to size their shoes consistently worth a damn. It's almost as if no two pairs of size 12's by Ecco are the same size either. This particular shoes are some of the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever had in my life. I read they ran somewhat narrow, so I even opted for the next wider size up. Despite that, they are still ridiculously narrow, especially in the toe box.I've owned them for about 6 months now and they just have never broken in or gotten any better despite walking probably 100 miles in them so far. These are essentially the type of shoes that you hear about later on in life that likely require people get corrective foot surgery to recover from. I just wish I could get my money back.

Great Walking / Travel Shoes
Would recommend them. Bought these for our vacation and travel walking on asphalt to cobblestone streets in various U.S. and European cities and and urban tourist locations like museums and downtown streets, but also for light trail walking in easy urban urban to rural parks. They passed the tests. A bit expensive but worth it so far. They are good for narrow feet and and arch support like flat feet or similar - they have a more snug supportive feel. They have a stylish appearance also so they can be worn nice casual environments, like restaurants and moderately nice social events if needed. They beat out several other walking and hiking shoes I tried or screened including Reebok, Sketchers, Nike, Avia, Saucony, Keen, Rockport, Trekkin, and Orthofeet. Shoe laces are a bit light / frail, so will probably replace them with a heavier grade lace. Happy travels!
