Sooo rugged and comfortable!

I waited a long time to get these boots to go on sale, and on a Black Friday sale I finally pushed the button and got them. Some reviews talked about how challenging it is to get your feet in them, and now that I've tried them, I have to agree, somewhat; however, the secret to getting your feet in there is having to stretch the laces all the way out, remove the ones from the upper area first, and really stretch out the middle as much as possible. Even then it was still a little challenging but not too bad.Once I lace them up, the comfort was palpable. As I took every step my feet tingled in comfort. The quality is outstanding. The sole's grip felt like a grappling hook on the floor, solid.I ordered one size up to allow thick socks and perhaps an additional insole, with thick socks and no added insole they fit and feel perfect. The front area by the toes is roomy and comfortable ensuring that long walks will not kill your feet. The way that they are built shows that they are waterproof. The tongue by the laces goes up high so that when you walk on water your feet will stay dry.I have to highlight the level of comfort on these boots, it is truly outstanding. At $250 it was challenging for me to get them, but on a Black Friday sale these boots for under $90 are a steal! This is my third pair of Ecco footwear. I own a pair of shoes that I've had for 6 years and are still as comfortable as the first day I bought them, I own a different pair of black boots which were my go-to for outdoor tasks, and now this pair is going to be a great addition for hiking adventures, with a different color.Ecco footwear saved my feet from plantar fasciatis, and at every turn have outstanding performance and comfort. If you wonder whether to get these boots or not, ask yourself, how much do you value comfort and quality, and how important are your feet to you? I was able to wait for a Black Friday sale because I already owned a pair of Ecco boots, but if I hadn't, I would have gotten them sooner and made it work somehow. My recommendation, get them. You will not regret this purchase.

30 years of wearing eccos

I've been wearing eccos for 30 years and this is the first pair I've ever had a complaint about. I've always worn a size 43 but this pair is tight. Plenty of toe room but too much foam in the tongue and around the ankle. Hard to get on, and with the laces completely loose they are still tight on the top of my foot. Not impressed. I'll be buying eccos again but not this style.

simply excellent

Completely disagree with some of the complaints I'm seeing about these boots. Are they snug? Yup. But do you want your hiking boots to be loose? Nope. The leather is clearly of a high quality, as is the stitching. The sole is aggressive, but not overly clunky/heavy. I have several pairs of hiking boots from Keen, Adidas, Merrell, etc, and these are far superior at this price (~$180, though I got em on sale for $103). I have MANY pairs of Eccos, they've never let me down, and these are no exception.
