These boots were so much better than I expected. They fit true to size, they are comfortable, and they look amazing. The only issue I had with them is that the colored glitter gets a bit dinged up in shipping - especially around the heel and ankle. Still, they were fun to wear and didn't bother my feet even after hours of standing and dancing.
I purchased the gold glitter boots to match a HeroGirl Halloween costume. The look was perfect and was a hit at Fantasy Fest. I ordered a larger size as recommended by other reviews and the fit itself was nice. The shaft was not too tight for my athletic calves and initially I was pleasantly surprised. The enjoyment later turned into pain when I felt a nagging scrap right above my ankle. I stopped to take a look and I found a huge scar with exposed flesh. I then went into CVS to get a pair of knee high socks to provide a buffer between my shin and the boot. This provided a little relief but after another hour or so things got worse so I took them off, put on my back up slippers, and stuffed these boots in the trash. Buy at your own risk, everyone has a different fit but definitely wear thick tights or knee high socks to provide protection from the zipper.
I guess they're okay for a costume piece but they look really cheap. They don't really look like the picture. And the calves run small.
I just wanted to warn others the boots are great looking and fit but it feels like they are pulling your feet in the wrong direction... like you have the boots on the wrong foot. It was ok at first. But after an hour the inside of my knees started bothering me. I wear boot heals all the time and never had any issues like this before.
I got the silver ones for a film project. It looks just like the picture. I am a size 81/2 and I always get a size 9 boot for extra room. Great fit with or without socks or stockings. The sparkles like to flake off, so I would recommend painting on a layer or two of glossy mod podge. It's wonderful now. I keep it in a long boot box with a thin sheet of paper between them to preserve them for the next project I'll need them for. Now I want more colors. :)
These are very cute boots but the shaft did not fit my 15 inch calves. I ordered a size bigger than I normally wear. The footbed in a size larger than normal fit fine, but the shaft was still too small. I planned to use them for pole dance. The glitter will shed so that's not great for pole and I imagine the glitter wouldn't be great for grip while climbing either. I got the fuchsia and it's a rich, dark pink. I really liked the color and style. The boots are cheaply made and probably won't hold up long, but that's to be expected at the price point. I'd recommend these if you need them for a costume (rather than dancing) and if you have thin calves.
My standards were low, based on how economical these were. And I probably won't wear them more than once or twice a year. But with all that being said, these are great! I ordered them for St Patty's Day and got sooooo many compliments. They grab your attention and are so fun!!! They were comfortable to dance in. I read another review that said order up. I wear an 8.5 and there are no half sizes, so I ordered the 9 and they fit perfectly. How fun- I am considering another color for football season or something. You can't beat the price!By the way, these were not tight at all on my calves at all.
