These boots are amazing, first day wearing them to break them in I thought it was going to be a nightmare. But after an 11hr work day my heels and feet were happy pups. When I took my boots off and put on regular shoes my feet were disappointed and felt naked without these sturdy comfy boots , these boots are so comfy.I would.highly recommend HUBERDS SHOE GREASE, I put this stuff on as soon as I got my boots for added protection.I am diligent in all my research and these boots are well.worth it along with the added HUBERDS SHOE GREASE.

Perfect for gardening
I use these boots for gardening and they are perfect for that purpose. I used to wear athletic shoes for gardening but leaves and dirt would get inside them from when I was kneeling down to do weeding and such. That doesn't happen with these boots, they are just the right height to keep things out. I also love the sole. It has enough traction for most purposes but doesn't have deep grooves so less mud sticks on the boots and it's easier to clean them off and avoid tracking dirt into the house. They are also surprisingly comfortable with a roomy toe box and they are made of real leather so I believe they will be very durable. They are well made and sturdy but they don't feel too heavy on your feet. One thing to note, as stated in the manufacturer's description they do run large. I am normally a 10.5 in a women's shoe and 9 or 9.5 in a men's shoe. I ordered the size 9 in these boots and there is room to spare, even wearing thick socks. I actually think the size 8.5 would have fit me and maybe I should have ordered that size, but I was lazy and just kept the size 9 since they work. I have even hiked in these boots in the rain about 4 miles and my feet were still dry at the end so I think they might be water-resistant. (My feet don't get hot and sweaty with these like they do with a waterproof boot, that's why I think they are water-resistant, not waterproof.) In addition to being good for gardening and light hiking I am sure the boots are great for their intended purpose of being a work boot: they are comfortably roomy and sturdy, not too heavy on your feet, and the soles don't track too much dirt while still giving good traction.

Not very comfortable out of the box, good enough quality that it's probably worth getting insoles
I'm going to be a little critical here, I've read some of the other reviews and they all say how comfortable they are. These are not comfortable, they say that they need no break-in, they need to be broken in. In fact, I think that you need to get insoles for these boots before you consider wearing them on the job site for the day. When I put them on it actually seemed like the toe and heel were higher than the arch and when I even put my insoles that I use in other shoes in them they felt like they weren't hitting like normal and I'm probably going to need to go get another insole especially for these boots.They did seem a little loose which with a thicker sock or if I'm working all day in hot weather I might appreciate having a little breathing room by the toes. The quality seems very good and they are not very heavy for being work boots. The sole seems like it is plenty thick and will wear nicely. If it wears weird I will update my review later.Overall, they are probably worth my time and money to go and get a insole for them.
