I was looking for a shoe that would not hurt my foot like the typical shoe with a carbon fiber sole and ratchet closures. I like the softer leather and the ability to tie the shoe to my liking enabling my foot to rest comfortably in a wider toe box. The sole is stiff enough for riding and comfortable enough for walking. The two hole version is great with my SPDs and all in all, a more comfortable shoe than what I have been wearing all of these years. I would tend to get a slightly larger version to make sure but err on the side of too big rather than too small. I am a 10+1/2 and that is what I got. It seemed a little tight at first but as I rode and tied the laces properly, the shoe fits perfectly. A good shoe for sure.

Quality, Appearance and Durability

! As soon as I removed the shoes from the box, I was sold! I actually ordered several pairs and they were different brands. This particular pair is such good quality, design, and durable! I am so impressed that I wanted to order another pair of a different color. I wear a size 14 US/ 49 EU and the fit was just comfortable, yet I feel as though I should have ordered a 50 EU. !4.5 US would have been close to perfect. I have to keep in mind, these shoes aren't made for walking (long distance). I'm undecided about ordering a larger size to feel the difference. I have to also consider the feet swell after a good ride! Enjoy your shoe search. Thanks all!

Good

These are good mtb shoes. They are on the heavy side but they are very comfortable while pedaling. They are super stiff and I do appreciate their stiffness while riding. Strangely they are comfortable to walk with, with the only downside that the cleats make some contact with the floor and thus making the characteristic clickity soundI don't find any use for the velcro strap other than to show the brand, the laces do all the fitting I want.Sizing was spot on

Fantastic MTB shoes

Fantastic MTB shoes, especially for the price. With Superfeet insoles, these fit perfectly and I don't feel like I'm missing much over my $500 Sidi XC race shoes. They're pretty easy to dial in for the races and the Velcro power strap works better than what I've used in the past. Very stiff - I thought they'd be a little more flexible for walking but they feel like an XC race shoe. That fits my preference and is really good for pedaling, but it might not be yours if you're looking for more of a commuter/mostly walking shoe. They're well built and look really tough which is what I was looking for - I am using these on a Santa Cruz Nomad for bombing down bike parks as fast as I can go.

VERY COMFORTABLE AND SIZE IS RIGHT ON

Size 11 and fits. Comfortable and seems to be well made, Cleat recess depth is perfect for engagement and not contacting the ground. I like them.

Finally found my shoe!

I like to ride clipless pedals with a surrounding platform, and most of the standard cross country shoes don't give you much benefit from that surrounding platform. These shoes perfectly fit the bill and actually make the surrounding platform useful. They are stiff, but not too stiff and provide good foot protection. Maybe a little warm in the hottest part of the summer, but that can be addressed with good socks. Also much better than hard plastic soles in hike-a-bike situations with much better grip on rocks. If switching from those hard plastic soles, be careful if you dab, though -- these soles may grip more than you expected!

Great shoes, but they do not come in an extra wide.

I really liked these shoes. The build quality is very good and I liked the colors. Unfortionately, the size 48 was too tight mostly across the metatarsal of my foot and in the width. Even taking the inner soles out, they were still a little too tight. I was going to go one size bigger, but could not find a 49 in these colors. I wear a size 13 US shoes. I finally decided to go to a local bike shop and buy a pair there. I am glade I did, I now have a perfect shoe size 47 but in an extra wide configuration. They are not the Five Ten brand.
