A great pair of Florsheim dress shoes!
I bought these shoes about a year and a half ago and have worn them every day to work. They are beautifully made, well-constructed and fit true to size. At first the shoes were very stiff, with very little give and they did hurt my feet (perhaps I should have gone a half size up). But after a few months of everyday wear, they relaxed and are now very comfortable shoes. I polish them with regular shoe polish and they shine up very nice. The leather sole is starting to show some wear and I will probably take them to a shoe cobbler to get the sole replaced. Overall, I am very happy with these shoes, they are my number one dress shoes for work and I love them. Thanks Florsheim!

Florsheim- You get what you pay for.
Sold men's shoes while in college, Florsheim are high quality and one of the few that have combination leather and synthetic sole, they used to be strictly leather soles. Still high quality wore this pair for a trip to Spain & Portugal on the Queen Elizabeth from Florida. Looked stellar with my Tuxedo, also worked great on the dance floor, highly recommended!

Falls short of expectations
I've always had good luck with Florsheim shoes. I've always found them to be true to fit and well made. That legacy just ended. I was looking for a pair of comfortable shoes that I could use for daily wear to the office. I ordered them online because it difficult in the stores to find an assortment of styles in my size (10/EEE). When I received these shoes, they looked great, but fit tightly. I assumed they would loosen up with wear, but that never really happened. They are absolutely NOT true to size. Although marked EEE, they fit like an E or maybe EE. Also, in order to get a comfortable fit, you have to leave a pretty large gap between the lace hole tongues, which looks a little stupid. I've never had to do this with a shoe before, and I don't have a high arch problem or any other malady that might make me an exception. They're (shoe manufacturer) just cheating on material. I would have returned them, but I wore them for a while in the hope that they would loosen up and, frankly, I just didn't want to go through the hassle. This shoe is NOT recommended.

OK, but not like it used to be
I've been buying this model Florsheim shoe for years. They are very traditional. BUT, now Florsheim has gone cheap and you no longer get a leather sole. It's a plastic sole with a rubber inset by the ball of your foot. They are still OK but I doubt how long the sole will last. I also found that the cut up the ankle is a little higher than what I have had in the past. I get a little irritation on the top of my right foot from the shoe rubbing on it.

Ordered these for my husband as his other pair by Florsheim were destroyed by our cats, and we can't find his new pair. He didn't have any time to break them in for the big day, so he got to wear them for the first time on our wedding day! Despite that, he said they really fit and wore really well. He didn't complain about his feet hurting ( and he really should have.. it was an outdoor wedding in a garden, LOTS of walking and being on our feet!)The style of Florsheim really is great for the price! He looked good in them, and they really matched close to the previous style he had. All in all, we would definitely buy again should our cats destroy another pair..
