Beautiful shoes
Such handsome little Florsheims for my 8 year old to wear to his sister’s wedding. They are made as well as the Florsheims my father wore so long ago. They not only looked great, they held up to him playing outside for hours. My son typically wears well made athletic shoes such as New Balance so he has little tolerance for lack of comfort. He never complained once.When I have a spare moment I will take out my Dad’s wooden shoeshine box and teach my son to polish them… so worth the money.

Shoe is great for my son
Shoe is great for my son. Much more stylish than anything you find in your local stores such as K&G and Macy's. Leather is soft and good quality. and the fit was good, they run a bit on the bigger side so if your child is a true size. 4/4.5 I would order and get a good thick pair of dress socks. Good for growth. :)

Decent for a child, not for an adult!
Let me first give a few details about myself to help get you started:AdultAbout 5' 1"Small frameTypically size 5 or 5.5 in men's shoesI constantly need to buy boys' shoes because I have small feet (usually, I'm in the 5, 5.5 range for men's shoes). Since most men's shoes do not go that small, I resort to buying boys' shoes. Cue in Florsheim JR Monk Strap Oxfords in Cognac. I originally ordered the size 5, but the fit of them was way too large. The length was decent, but the width of the shoe was probably about an inch too large. So I ordered the size down, the 4.5, and while they are still very wide, they are manageable when the strap is tightened down very tight.Which brings me to the strap - THE BUCKLE IS NOT A REAL BUCKLE! I was pretty devastated by this since I was looking for a pair of shoes that would be classy enough to wear to work but casual enough to wear regularly as well. Sadly, they are VELCRO. It isn't the end of the world, but not what I was looking for in a pair of shoes.The overall look and feel of the shoe is decent. The leather is honestly a terrible quality leather, but I didn't expect it to be amazing for the price. I did hope it would be better than what it is, however. The inside is leather-lined as well, which makes the shoe (in conjunction with the insole) very comfortable and velvety. Very comfortable for all day wear. I wore them walking 8 miles around Chicago city proper one day without fatigue or pain, and I'm not particularly heavy on my feet usually.Overall, I feel these would be good shoes for a younger child, but for an adult who is in the professional world, not really.
