So very comfortable…
I really loved these shoes. I bought to wear to my nephew’s wedding. And boy was I so happy I did. The venue was gorgeous…The Wakefield Barn in Wake Forest,NC. An old dairy farm I believe. The upstairs of barn is the wedding and reception with cocktail hour held downstairs in the old horse stables. I’m almost 59, my mother 85 yo. The stairs are double sided and wrapped up to the second floor. Absolutely Gorgeous!!! But the stairs are quite bad on the elderly, sick or injured. No Elevator that we saw or was pointed out. So to have to go upstairs to rehearse back down to wait and rehearse again, then for the wedding it was upstairs for wedding, downstairs for cocktail hour, back upstairs for reception. My brother, father of groom, is 6’5” thin and was sober the first trip up the stairs at reheard he fell going up the stairs. I’ve not even started on parking…the barn was about a block and half up a hill, so you parked near entrance to farm, and park under a metal open building then have to walk it up the steep hill, they own a golf course next door, you’d think for the amount they charged they’d at least offer shuttle service up the hill. The four of us would’ve gladly paid just to take our mother up the hill, and she’s in better shape than us all, still works full time at 85 and at Walmart for over 20yrs. I’m the disabled one, with 3 autoimmune diseases, Small Fiber Peripheral Neuropathy not from Diabetes, Spinal Arthritis, lower back pain and bulging disc…and on. I was struggling to get up the hill, without the rubber traction on the bottom of these shoes I didn’t slip nor lose my footing the entire 2 nights. Had I been in heels, I’d been in the emergency room, if not worse. Not only are they extremely comfortable, they’re very stylish and expensive looking. I’ve got $200 heels that these shoes put to shame. They’re very well padded inside the shoe also, I had no blisters or pain spots from the weekend, and I didn’t have on hose or even a sox liner. My toes hurt a bit due to the pointed toe, but I usually wear orthotics every day. I really think the terrain we walked, up and down a steep hill numerous times, up and down stairs truly caused the toe issue. Because once on flat ground in normal walking areas, I felt no discomfort. I also believe these will pair very nicely with pants too. Dressy but extremely comfortable…I will definitely order in the black color next.
