A perfect everyday pair of boots and well worth the money

I usually wear a 9, but for me the Frye Tyler Lace-Up Boots fit best half a size smaller (in which case no thick socks needed and no extra movement inside the boot). Overall a simple genuine style boot (I purchased the Olive Suede) and very comfortable from the start (they break in nicely). A perfect everyday pair of boots and well worth the money.

Nice boot!

Yes-- this is a more narrow fit boot. Wasn't a big deal for me as I don't have huge wide feet. I purchased my exact size and it fit nicely.Very comfortable but would recommend purchasing an insole for extra comfort...... the black I received was the distressed black (looks kinda scuffed up and worn)-- very nice.Would recommend as long as you don't have Fred Flintstone feet.

Did not meet expectaions.

These were for my husband, who was looking for a nice pair of dressy black boots. He currently owns three pairs of Frye's boots. Two pairs are made in the USA, one pair made in Mexico. These initial boots are really high quality and will probably last a lifetime. We were under the impression this pair would be of the same caliber based on some of the reviews we read. The leather was soft, however it was thin and frankly did not feel like it would last heavy use. The soles were much lighter and thinner. This boot was much lighter and did not have a heavy duty quality. The stitching had numerous flaws. Strangely, the boots did not arrive in a Frye box. The boots are not made in North America as was mentioned in older reviews or comments. Because the price point does not match the quality we decided to return the item.

Very sharp and well made boots

These are great boots. They have a very tailored appearance, not at all clunky or heavy. Yet, they are very well made and sturdy. They look great with a suit and with jeans. They look like they will last a life time. They fit well, including over the ankle and up the calf. The leather is high quality. I have worn Frye shoes/boots over the years and they usually have high craftsmanship. These are no exception.

Poor durability

My boot heal is coming apart from the sole. These boots serve as station boots to my uniform at the firehouse.I only wear them every 3rd day as I work 24hr shifts and off 48.I like to purchase high quality boots and expect durability to be priority.Bought in Oct ‘24 so I’ve had these for 6 months.I work 1/3rd of the calendar year so the wear is only equivalent to 2 months at 12-14 hrs of the 24 hr shift.I’m happy with the comfort, lightweight and style but I don’t see these lasting much longer before needing repair.

Bought two pairs!

I ordered Vintage Brown but was shipped Dark Brown instead. I decided to keep it, as I think with a little wear the boots will break in and weather nicely. Keep this in mind, though, if Vintage Brown is what you want. The boots are nice, fully lined with sheepskin and well constructed. They are narrow, but comfortable for me. Heeding the other reviews, I ordered a half size smaller than usual and they are still a bit long. There is no arch support built into this boot, the insole is flat. I inserted an orthotic insole but there's just barely room for it.I don't like the painted-on dark highlighting that covers the toes and heel area, but I hope with some weathering, it won't be as noticeable.Overall this is a well made and comfortable boot, perfect for jeans and khakis.Update: I wore the boots for 14 hours the first day with no discomfort. The leather is stiff but comfortable. It will break in nicely. The dark brown finish has a burgundy - oxblood base color visible in full sun. I am considering sanding off the edge dressing on the sole to help weather it. I'm beginning to really dislike the fake burnishing applied to the heel and toe. It makes a fine, well made pair of boots look like a $79 special.Update: I bought another pair in black. The black pair has a higher dome toe and thicker all-rubber sole and heel so it looks more like a work boot. I thought it might be helpful to post pictures so you can see what they look like in a non professional photograph.
