Gorgeous and comfortable. Total winner from Frye!!!
Absolutely gorgeous!!! Initially I ordered the charcoal color, and while it was beautiful and rich taupe (ish) color, it wasn't what I was looking for, so I sent it back and ordered the metallic color. On first seeing it I thought it looked a bit blue metallic rather than a black metallic.and perhaps it wasn't going to work with my clothes, but when I put the boots on with grey slacks, they looked perfect (I pretty much have grey, black and blue slacks for work). They also look great with blue jeans and grey jeans. I mostly wear boot cut or skinny pants and jeans, and this boot looks great with both. I typically wear a size 8 in Frye, and the size 8 fit perfect with no insole and thin socks. They are very comfortable to walk in, and don't seem to need the break-in time that my other Frye boots have. The heel is a great walking height, the inside heel doesn't slip like other Frye boots do. The outside asymmetrical zipper is very unique and cool. Beware, the toe area is narrow for those of you with wide feet, you may need a boot stretcher for these. I'm waiting for the Wine color price to go down so I can buy that one also.

Great boots
Comfortable right out of the box. I would say these are more of a stream line boot. Not bulky at all. Love the plum color and goes with many things. Can't beat Amazon price . I stand on my feet for 12hours a day and these are like walking on clouds. Very happy with the purchase. The zipper isn't bright either so I feel like these can be causal and can be really dressy too. They have a slim fit by the ankle FYI if this should be a trouble spot for you.

Fit is a little strange, but I love the looks of these boots. Taking them to a boot stretcher.
The boot is a bit tight through the heel area. I'm going to take it to a boot specialist to get them stretched. I wore these for Thanksgiving day, so I didn't even do a whole lot of walking that day. But still, by the end of the day, I had blisters on the insides of both heels. :( Lovely boots, though. They just don't seem to be shaped quite right. And I don't normally have very many fit issues with shoes and boots, especially from reputable brands.

There was a staple coming out of the heel in the back of the shoe which drew blood when I touched it the heel looked to be be pulled away from the material on one side of the bootI would have kept these boots if I didn’t notice any of that but they were poorly made

Stiff and tight
The leather on this boot is very thick--it's good quality--and the zipper is heavy and stiff--also good quality. But those features make it very difficult to get on and wearing the boots is like wearing armor on the feet. I used a medium-weight sock and it made the boot too tight--size up if you are feeling brave enough to wear tight, thick boots that will take a long time to break in.

Each color has its own fit
I originally ordered these in the black multi with brushed silver and found them to be very tight and stiff. I could not understand reviewers who called these “buttery soft,” and even sizing way up didn’t help. When I was returning them, I saw that the Pewter Cut color had gone on a huge sale, so I decided to give them a try, not thinking they’d work out. They are like a different shoe! I usually wear a 7 1/2 - 8, and given my first experience, I’d only ordered the 8, but now they were roomy! The leather on this pair is soft and comfortable, as other reviewers described. I kept them. They are breaking in well. Still a bit loose at the back of the shoe, but I like thick socks in winter, so the extra room is ok. Moral: try different colors, as they fit quite differently!
