Comfortable MTB-style cycling shoes for recessed SPD or crank bros cleats

These are mountain biking style cycling shoes, with a well defined sole, suitable for comfortable walking. They are designed for installation of two-screws cleats, which can be either SPD, or very similar in shape Crank Bros. Cleats are recessed, which can be of a huge advantage if one needs to walk in these shoes, especially at home. We have an indoor bike trainer, and the last thing I want is the damage to our hardwood floors. Recessed cleats on MTB style shows prevent the cleats from touching the floor when walking, but do not interfere at all with clipping in or out. The sole is sufficiently stiff. This, of course, is not a high end road cycling type of shoe, and not even a high end MTB shoe, but it is more comfortable out of the box than many more advanced brands, and works great for indoor cycling and non-pro level outdoor cycling. Price is reasonable, quality is good.

Good shoe

Comfortable shoe. Appears to be well made. Only complaint was it runs slightly narrow especially through the toe box but I feel it will stretch with use.

Comfortable shoes, protect the cleat when walking, but a little heavy

Bought these to replace my worn-out Pearl Izumi V4 cycling shoes for which replacements were not available in my size. These are a good price as compared to other major shoe grands.First, the shoes fit as expected, which is great. The Pearl Izumi shoes were a bit smaller than expected, which caused some discomfort.Second, the cleats install easily and work as expected, so functionally, the shoes work fine.Third, these shoes have a little more outsole than the PI V4 shoes, so they protect the cleat a bit more when walking on uneven surfaces. The only drawback is these shoes are a bit heavier than the PI V4 shoes. I am a commuter cyclist, so this is not a big problem for me, but be forewarned if you are used to our expect lightweight shoes. If, however, you expect to do some real off-road cycling that will involve some hiking, these may be what you are looking for.I like them for their comfort and function, and the price was right.

Great shoes for the price!

Excellent shoes for the price! I’m glad I switched to them instead of regular road racing shoes. I can walk and drive with them. They fit well (don’t run big or small).

Good shoe for commuting with

I bought these to replace my pair of shoes that I had for over 10 years because they were falling apart. I tried several different options and brands before I settled on keeping these. I commute regularly to work by bike and I was looking for a shoe with a softer sole and good traction for polished floors indoors. So far I have ridden them just over 500 miles, and haven't had any construction issues. Like all things nowadays I'm sure that there are bad ones that fail. I am also someone who likes to keep his shoes snug, but loose, I've never been a fan of extremely tight shoes, so maybe that has helped a little.Regarding weight I guess they are a little heavy compared to others, but not enough for me to notice or really care. They are intended for mountain biking or commuting, so weight wasn't a concern for me when I was looking. I cared more about other aspects, like the sole construction and fit.

Terrible quality

We purchased for our son to use for road cycling and CC mountain biking. The look/style of the shoes is great, and he said they were very comfortable. The shoes lasted one month before the hardware completely separated from the shoe (used during that time no more than 8 rides). The result was the clip not releasing from the pedal during a fall. It’s quite disappointing for a company that makes bike gear to have such a poor quality product.

Comfortable and easy to put on and remove

I tried several mt bike shoes and none would fit with my wide feet . This shoe fits and it’s really easy to take on and off (Velcro) . I did have to send one pair back because it was too big . Usually it’s the other way around .These shoes are more true to US sizes than others .
