Surprisingly water resistant!

Ordering shoes online is a nightmare, but these boots were a very pleasant surprise, upon opening them I thought that they would be a bit too much, too big, too chunky but I was wrong. I’m a size 8 and ordered accordingly, they fit perfectly. I did not find them to be too large. The opening also fit great around the calf. Just a little bit of space left when wearing a regular pair of jeans. For your reference, my calf is 14” around at its widest.The boots themselves are surprisingly cute. The material I do question slightly. It’s on the edge of looking cheap. It has a texture to it that doesn’t scream cheap shiny fake leather like some others I’ve received. But it still does have a vaguely fake look to it. How noticeable it is to someone not staring directly at it from 6” away, I just cannot judge. It’s hard to look at it objectively when you know what you know. But I really don’t think most people are observing our clothing that closely.Also, it’s definitely worth mentioning that they seem to be somewhat water resistant which really surprised looking at the construction between the shoe and sole. It had snowed quite a few inches then rained for a few days straight. I wore these to walk in about 3 blocks of slush with random 2-3” deep puddles along the way, I then walked about a mile in the rain (on a dry sidewalk) and my feet were still dry. Not sure what would have happened if the slush puddles were the whole length of the walk but I can absolutely say they are more water resistant than many boots.At the end of the day, this is one of my favorite shoe orders to date. They look cute and fit well. So far they’ve been comfortable to walk in. I would recommend.
