Great fit with good ankle support

Anytime a boot is waterproof I’m in…which is why I took a chance and decided to try out this brand called Groundies. I ordered the black boots in a size 9 (I am usually a nine and a half) and am very happy with the fit. (I have a wider foot.) I like the support around the ankle and the fit by my heel (which is where a lot of boots rub on me and make blisters.) These boots are very “low to the ground” compared to other trail shoes that I have, and that makes for great grip when you’re climbing over a rock or need to feel secure on uneven ground. It’s almost like you don’t have anything on. My only concern is that the toe area is really large, but other than that I am really happy with these boots!

Barefoot hiking boots

These are nice looking hiking boots. I had heard positive things about Groundies ao I wanted to try them. They are 'barefoot' hiking boots. The premise is to protect your foot while not restricting it.Firstly, there is ample room in the toebox which is sometimes a problem for me. They seem well made. I also like that right behind the ankle is lower for less stress on my achilles tendon (see pic). Unfortunately, they are too flat for my feet. They seem nice but not right for me.

Runs Big - Long - OK Quality

GROUNDIES All Terrain High 2.0 Hiking Shoes, Size 7: I’m so disappointed that these don’t fit! These run very large. I’m normally a 6/6.5 in sandals and 6.5/7 in sneakers, so I went with the 7 since I’d wear thicker socks with these. These are SO LARGE on my feet that I can’t walk in them. I’m so bummed because seem comfortable. If you have a wider foot, these will likely fit great. I sized these up to other size 7 sneakers and shoes and these are longer than every other pair I have. If you normally size up for sneakers, I recommend against it. Go with your normal size because these are properly shaped for a naturally shaped foot. Sizing aside, the quality is good but could be better. IMO, the value could be improved.
