Amazing and worth every cent!!

I have the Haflinger Meadow wool flat and the hard sole AT Haflinger slipper. Ive been wearing Haflingers for a while so Ill review them both. The meadow slippers are like their popular soft sole slipper but have the pretty crocheted top. There is a soft sole with little rubber grips. My mind was blown away when I tried the meadow on. They have support, especially arch support but are as comfy as a thick sock. You feel like you are walking around in socks but have the support of a shoe all the while this slipper has no sole. How did they manage that? Support of a shoe with the comfort of a sock. AMAZING!!! I am a 8. Ive been able to wear 38 or 39 with my size 8, wide feet. If you chose to always wear a sock, get the 39. If you want to wear these barefoot, which is totally possible because they are so warm, and prefer a snug fit, get the 38. I chose to keep the meadow slippers upstairs in my house as a bedroom slipper. They are so unbelievably soft, warm and supportive yet you feel like you have nothing on. But when I wear them in and out of the kitchen or dining room, having little kids, something is always being spilled on the floor. With the meadow soft sole you cant step in liquids. The bottom is wool as well. But with the AT hard sole I have the comfort and support of the meadow but can step in water or step outside. Nice and soft and supportive but more like a shoe. I recommend both. I also have the Grizzly Haflingers also which are best for out and about town with cork and rubber and are so comfortable as well. Just like my Birkenstocks except made with wool. And let me add I always thought I was allergic to wool but for some reason Haflingers don't bother my feet at all. And they support my arches, I have plenty of room for my toes and wide feet. I live in Haflingers every day, at home and out.

Fabulous!

Shocked at the amount of arch support there is in these slippers, and it's awesome and just the right amount. The arch support is even better than in some of my top brand walking shoes. The nights are already chilly and my feet were getting cold, but these provide just the right bit of warmth. I like to be able to wear slippers that I can go outside in as I'm taking my dog out multiple times a day and either I continually change shoes or forget and ruin the soles of regular slippers , or just wear my shoes for slippers - which in the long run ruins my regular shoes. I had looked at these for well over a year and now my only regret was not buying them sooner. There's plenty of room for me in the toe area, yet they are firm enough around the instep to hang on without being uncomfortable, both of which is something I want in slippers. My toes neither touch the front end of the shoe, nor the inside top fo the shoe - I ordered up a 1/2 size - in many shoes I wear a 10.5, in some I get away with a 10, but in these I ordered the 11 (42). These are so comfortable to walk in that with pants I would wear these for general household shopping and not worry about changing my footwear before I left the house. I'm old fashioned and not comfortable wearing pajamas to go shopping nor stereotypical slippers like so many folks do these days -- to each their own, but it's not for me.I had hoped to like these, but I don't -- I love them!

Great quality and durability!

My husband and I both have a pair of these slippers and we LOVE them. They are very warm and cozy and the hardsole is a great bonus. We have had our slippers for two years and wear them nearly everyday both indoors and outdoors when we are at home. Both pairs have held up extremely well, but our dog recently chewed one of my husband's slippers. So I purchased these slippers again as a Christmas present for him.The boiled wool upper fits around the foot like a glove and the more you wear the slipper the more it molds to your foot. Its nice and warm and not at all itchy. We will occasionally through our slippers in the washing machine and then let them air dry overnight. The colors have not faded and the slippers have maintained their shape. The hardsole makes it easy to walk outside on the deck or front porch even when there is snow. Not only does the sole give you traction outside and on hardwood floors but it gives you more support for your foot/arch/ankle which is really important for me. The best part though is that the slipper keeps your feet completely dry if you go outside and walk in the snow or in the rain for a few minutes. We are very happy with these slippers and think they are well worth the money.

Second Pair

The great:I just ordered my second pair from Amazon. I got an amazing price. I'm not sure I would have ordered except for the Amazing price. The good:These are extremely comfortable and useful slippers/shoes. I love how they fit my foot, how they breath, how I can wear them outside for short jaunts. My feet never feel to hot and never get sweaty as they have in my accorns. My feet stay comfortable even when the weather gets warmer.Perhaps the nicest feature is how easily they slip on. That encourages me to put them on all the time and to quit wearing out my icebreaker and wigwam socks which are rather pricey. The bad:These slippers seem to wear out in the toe more quickly than I feel they should. I certainly don't expect them to wear out in 4 years of part-time-use which is what my last pair did. I kept wearing them for another couple of seasons even with a big hole in the toe all the same, but I expected 6-8 years use for the $80+ cost. Wearing out in the toe in merely 4 years is the reason I can only give them 3 stars. My Idea:With "the bad" in mind, I think I will take them to our local tailor and see if I can have a more substantial durable patch sewn into the toe area to prevent wear-through this time. It seems like toe wear is a known issue in these particular types of slippers. I'm not sure why someone hasn't placed some sort of soft yet durable patch in the toe area to give these slippers some longevity. Perhaps I will find out why when I modify mine. I hope to keep people posted with my experiment.
