These run a little large, DEPENDING...
I bought these to replace a pair of Haflingers I have had for more than 30 years, that's how great these house shoes are. Problem was they are so great the size label wore off years ago. I wear US size 7.5 or 8 ordinarily; my first order was for a unisex size women's 8/39 and that was disastrously large. I then went with 7/38 and was surprised to find they are still larger than my originals which must be 6/37...I decided to stay with the ones I was sent which can accommodate really thick socks. Colors like eggplant did not used to be an option. These are so well made and I am sure this pair will last another 30+ years!

These are everything I was hoping for. Yes they are a little roomy if you have a "medium" or "narrow" foot but they are more of a winter slipper so I wear thin socks and they are perfect!!! I love them! Size is same as my Birkenstocks and the break in is a little easier than my Birks. They are great! and I'm very happy with the purchase, worth every penny.

Worst experience EVER!
Let's see, where do I start. First, I received these shoes in a bag labeled "Delivered to Amazon Returns" with a box that had been torn open. OK, fine. Not everyone gets the size right on the first try. When I say the box was torn open, I mean it was in 4 pieces being held together by tiny shreds of cardboard. Well, I decided after trying them on (with socks, so as not to get some sort of foot fungus) that I would just recycle the shredded box. I then washed them according to the instructions and sprayed the inside with a healthy dose of Lotrimin AF. I then wore them and after only a week developed three corns on my left foot! In my 62 years on this earth, I have NEVER had a corn! I mean we're talking platforms in the 70's, pointy "elf shoes" in the eighties, etc. Also, the arch support was non-existent. I'm guessing that whoever had these before me must have molded them to their feet, since I only weigh 110lbs AND have a high arch. I know that my Birkenstocks have always taken quite a while to mold to my feet, so the previous purchaser must have worn them for at least three or four weeks. Anyway, I tried to return these, but since I had recycled the box, Amazon refused to take them. I am now out $115 + tax on a pair of useless shoes. I am absolutely disgusted. I should have returned them immediately without even opening the return bag.

Picture not accurate on Eggplant sole
I purchased the eggplant color because the photo had the original black soles. Other reviews had noted the new tan version becomes slippery & I did not want slippery. Also, the shoe didn't have the comfort level I had expected so back they went.
