Nicely designed, good quality boots.
I've never ridden a motorcycle in my entire life (and I don't think I ever will) but these boots really caught my eye in a good way. Of course these are riding shoes, but they're perfectly fine for casual use. What you see on Amazon's photos (or mine) is what you'll get, but I'll post some details that I think are worth mentioning.First: the size and weight. These shoes run big. Make sure to order half a size down. I'm 9, ordered 8.5 and they feel right (but I think they would feel right even on 8). Believe me, they run big. And they're weighty, yes, but comfortable at the same time.Second, the design. The ankle guard's height runs above average. I'd say 5-6 centimeters above the ankle. They look really good, but if you're a small guy, I don't recommend using them with short pants because you will look even smaller. Another thing to mention is the outsole. It doesn't look perfectly white because it's been given a smoked, scuffed look. So don't worry, your new shoes haven't been used. It's just the way they've been designed.Third, the materials. The shoes are sturdy and well built without feeling stiff. At first sight, I thought the leather was actually rubber, but nop. It's part of the process that gives the leather waterproof features. Finally, I've read some reviews noting that the fabric rings that hold the shoe laces are very weak, but at least in my case, they look perfectly fine and firm.Fourth: waterproof. As you can see on my photos, the tongue is not separated from the upper portion of the shoe and the laces are covered by strips of leather. So, yes these shoes are quite waterproof and can stand against some heavy rain.Fifth: the price. I think the price I paid ($95) is a great deal for the quality of these shoes. Even at $110, it's well spent money. So, in short, I feel very satisfied with these shoes. Quality is great, design is attractive, price was good. I'm pretty sure they will last me for a long time. Too bad I don't have a motorcycle, but at least I got the shoes!
