I think I finally "met my match"!Pros:* VERY non-slip (I walk stairs about 10 times a day, and slipped a few times in the past)* The bottoms are thick enough to withstand the medium-sized gravel in my yard* Yet pliable enough that I can easily roll them up from toe to heel, or roll up like a tortilla along their length! (not that I need to, just demonstrating their pliability)* They are fairly quiet to walk on, and no "klopety-klopety" sound walking on our vinyl flooring (like Grandma wears @#$%!)* Comfortable and lightweight (my last trial shoes were heavy!), I barely feel them on* Slips on and off easily with a stretchy opening (I wear sox with them), not like my last pair that fastened with velcro off and on, and seemed like a hassle.* Another feature (from reviewing all the photos in the ad!) is that the back is so soft, you can just step on it as you slide your feet in, where it lays down for a true "slip-on" experience when not requiring a firmer fit, for easy-on/easy-off when you need shoes for just a few minutes.Cons:* None so farThe white color I chose doesn't look much different from a sneaker, so I even wear them out to the store.Later:After having them for a few weeks, and being OK with the size and function, I bought several more pairs for other colors, and have black, white, and a cream color, and it turns out that my wife had bought me a similar black & gray pair a few months earlier, that ended up lost in the garage until found just recently.I can't say enough about how "sure-footed" and confident I feel when wearing these, I think their best feature is their non-slip bottoms, I even tried to slip on a part of my driveway with a nearly polished cement, that was notorious for slipping on when wet, and they wouldn't budge during a rain, amazing!The only downside is they don't spin or slip when doing some of my Michael Jackson moon-walking! Comfortable, true to size. I use these as a barefoot style shoe and they work well. The only time I've had an issue was when I pushed my grandson in a stroller around the neighborhood. It was an hour and a half with a lot of steep hills and the insole of one shoe twisted some towards the end of the walk. I straightened it and have worn them a lot since with no issues. I love them. Good fit
Ok, so I had an awesome pair of boiled wool slippers that lasted three years, but they were kind of expensive. So i wanted to find something good for less money. These are not expensive and they have some nice points.Pros: fit is pretty good. I wear a 5 1/2 and got the 6-6 1/2. If I’d gotten true to size they might fit with less room or they might be too snug. I’ll never know. Fabric is stretchy so the slipper has give. These are great for walking around the house or a quick run to take the trash out, the non slip bottom is a must have.Cons: my feet sweat in these and I do not like that, the stitching on the pull up tab is sticking out so it rubs my ankle, nothing moleskin can’t fix, but still.Final issue- I’m WFH right now. I have a standup desk so I’m not sitting all day. These are NOT the slippers for that and I have a custom orthotic in mine. Standing for any period of time in these is hard on the back.All in all, it’s an adequate slipper, but I think I need to go back to my boiled wool slippers.
