Great value.

I'll admit it, I bought these because they are half the price of most other products out there. But I'm tired of buying waterproof hikers that aren't, of buying name brand boots that have clearly lost something in quality yet still expect us to pay a more premium price, or buying 'features that basically don't really differentiate or separate the boots from everything else. Columbias, Tims, and Merrells have all let me down recently.I'm at the point where I only get a year out of my boots anymore anyway, so why pay two and a half times more and still need to replace them each year when I can buy these and do the same for a better price. These HI_TEC boots are as comfortable as the others (more so in a few cases). The toe box is roomy and doesn't pinch, is flexible at the base of the toes and doesn't pressure my foot there, and the lacing works snugly against my arch and keeps my foot in place even on steeper terrain. The footbed overall is cushioning and I can go all day in these. The stitching is solid, the panels and other components are put together well and the upper seems reasonably well anchored to the sole. These boots have maintained their waterproof ability after a month of daily use on my farm, including dew drenched pastures, muddy puddles, being caught in downpours, and so on.So so far, these are providing great value and unless they fall apart before then, if I get a year out of them then they've done their job.Edit: 10/16/23 Ok, these are finally starting to fall apart. The stitching that holds the black front bumper to the upper is fraying/rotting and falling out , especially at the sides where the upper flexes, and they are starting to separate.Having said that, I've gotten over 4 months of use out of them. I wore them pretty much every day, and doing a rough calculation with my step tracker, I got 1, 800,000 steps with them, averaging 7 miles a day. Most of the wear was outside, either around my property while I did farm chores or walking dogs. For me, the price/performance was 4.5 stars. I bought them for hard use during the summer and they gave me exactly that, without paying three times as much when I know I won't get three times the life.

Excellent hiking boots

I'm not a professional hiker but I love hiking and have been doing it for many years despite getting harder as I get older. So, having a pair of hiking boots that can fully support aging legs, knees, ankles, among other things, is really important. I've had brand name hiking boots (I'll not name these brands) over the years but never really was fully satisfied or happy with any. So, I was very surprised that these no name brand pair was providing what I was looking for! It is still couple of tough hikes but I'm hoping that the pair will continue to provide the support and comfort - keeping my fingers crossed! I've not tested or had test its waterproof characteristics, so can't comment on that. But stule and quality are great! For me, this pair is provides excellent value for money. On the downside - they don't have lot of color choices; oh, well... may be in the future.

Testing out boots

I purchased a few pairs of boots from different makers. I was looking for something that I could wear for work. (Airline). This was the second pair i tried. Day 1 this is a solid boot I saw that they run a bit small so I figured they would be a good fit and didn't go up a size. Honestly, for I prefer them small so they fit perfect when they are beoken in. They are exact 12s perfect fit. Which means for me when I break them in they will be loose and uncomfortable for me. (I am hard on most thing but especially shoes.) Love the fit, love the support. They seem well made. Not sure how long they will last me but for now they are on the list. Just next time I will order 11.5W instead. This is just one fat boys opinion so try them for yourself.

Great shoe, even better value

This is a super quality shoe. The material, the stitching, the lightweight....ALL great. I did find that the sizing ran a lil small. I am a solid 9.5 and these were too small. I asked and was granted a return and immediately bought a half size larger. I look forward to many hours/miles in these.

These boots are TOUGH. an great buy

When I ordered these for my son I first thought I was making a mistake. Because he is so picky. But I ordered them anyway. I received them a told him I had got a good pair of hiking boots for him an he could wear around farm working. Well after a couple of weeks. He put them on a did some fencing a working in hills cutting trees. That evening he was speechless about the books. He said we should get another pair for a backup. I ask why. He said these are the most comfortable boot I’ve ever worn a they are light on my feet an have great grip when climbing mountains. Clean up good. He was worn them every single day he’s had to work outside an also to meetings. They are about 3 years old a still in great shape. I intend to order another pair for him after Christmas. For him to say this about the boots is a good story. Because he’s very critical of stuff. They are reasonable a made well to stand up to the places a roughness he puts them thru. These are great. I’d buy an will buy again. GREAT BOOTS.

Decent hiking boot. But not wayerproof

Dropped about 300 miles before I decided to post a review. They are quite comfy to start with a quick break in time, first 10 miles or so at 240lbs. Laces are as stated by others, a bit unremarkable in durability. The boots soak up water like a sponge, any thing past the outsole starts creeping in and if there's ever a bit of water that brushes up to the laces they start soaking through the tongue. The dritech seems to be more geared towards attempting to be breathable yet waterproof, 😬 and although they fry quickly I'm walking I. A swamp by the 3rd hour in regular dry conditions, and in wet, muddy, splashing water they fail miserably as a waterproof boot. As far as comfort goes, they are solid and roomy witg toe space to spare.
