Finally wide enough!!

I have arthritis in my feet and have had several bone fusion surgeries in my feet. In addition I have lymphedema with causes extreme swelling in my feet. It’s so hard for me to find shoes or sneakers that actually fit. Most are no where near wide enough. And water shoes? Forget about it!! But FINALLY I found these water shoes that FIT!! Being water shoes, they don’t have a lot of support, but they’ll be perfect for visiting the rocky beach near our home. They are easy to get on, and they stay on pretty well. (I’ve had many shoes that are really too big to accommodate my width and then they slide off even when you don’t want them to. Not so with these!I’m not sure how the white color will hold up and fear they may show dirt, but that’s my choice of color, so it doesn’t reflect poorly on the shoes.

I didn't know what to expect...

I've seen this type of shoe before, but I was hesitant to commit to a pair until I read some other reviews... now I'm glad I got them. They feel "minimalist" but they provide plenty of protection to your feet. They're lightweight, and provide a little springiness to your step.I generally wear a size 10 shoe, but the largest size offered when I ordered was "Men's 9-9.5". I took a chance and indeed, they fit perfectly... no big-toe rubbing inside the toe box. For a safety margin, I'd still order my correct size if it was available, but this "downsize" worked for me. They do take a little effort to put on, because the opening is small... but designed to grasp your ankle, so that's appropriate.So far, I've only taken a few walks around our neighborhood, but I've had no rubbing or anything unpleasant happen. I do feel like I'm breaking them in even though they were never stiff to begin with... maybe "adapting to my feet" is more correct. The bottom line is that I like the feel during a walk and I'm officially switching from my Asics (which are really my running shoes) to these for neighborhood walks with my wife.Definitely recommend.

These were pretty awesome. They fit perfect and were comfortable enough to wear on a full beach day excursion in baja. I was all the way submerged in the water and it took a full minute before the water seeped into my toes. They have a wide toe box which helps out for my wide feet. I typically bounce between a 9 and 10, size 9 fit me well. As far as water shoes go these were definitely more comfortable than any I have tried in my 47yrs

High Quality and True to size

There’s so much to love about these! They have so much character! The fabric stitching is immaculate with accurate and neat patterns.I saw no parts double stitched or over glued anywhere! It was constructed really neatly.The plastic tightening piece is the only part I’d be worried that wouldn’t last long because it has a “cheap” plastic tone to that part. They should last though!They fit my foot oddly well - like a glove and definitely takes me straight to a zero incline experience that comes with barefoot hiking shoes.I do have to wear socks with these for cleanliness purposes but also because the texture is not nice long term on my skin. They are definitely worth wearing long term though! I just prefer socks and for me, they could be very thin socks and still work great.The grip on the bottom is so weird at first but you get used it and start to prefer it really fast.Overall, these are constructed really well and are true to size. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. They look very sophisticated!

Unintended Use

I got these shoes because I spend a lot of time on my feet, and I miss the days of being barefoot. I intended to use them for dog walks and at least an occasional run. However, life had other plans.I have been fighting a vestibular disorder (a disruption of my balance system), and when I began rehabilitation therapy, my therapist told me that I needed to work on having "as many points of contact with the ground as possible." Enter these barefoot shoes. These have been a game-changer in my recovery and rehab process, as the extra contact with the ground is exactly what my body needs to learn to re-orient itself. I'm pretty sure the makers of these shoes didn't think their product was "therapeutic," but I'm finding it is exactly that.
