Just like the name brand shoe only better...
Fabulous shoe that is obviously competing against the popular and overpriced name brand shoe that is so popular with thru-hikers. I used the name brand one for years and I like this one better, although it has a couple downsides too. It is basically the same as the expensive shoe.I like it better because: 1. It's 1/3 the price. 2. It's more durable. Doesn't get holes as quickly and the outsoles last way longer. 3. Has a wider toebox. The name brand shoe has gotten way too narrow for my feet over the years. This one is perfect, just wide enough in all the right places. It's different / inferior to the name brand shoe in 3 ways: 1. The midsole starts out overly thick and cushy and then, after some miles, flattens out and becomes about the same as the name brand shoe, so if you're doing long distances, be prepared for the responsiveness/cushion to change over time. 2. Not as breathable. The thicker more durable fabric is more durable but less breathable, so my feet get a little hotter and sweatier than in the name brand shoe, but not so much that it's a problem. 3. Heavier: This shoe is maybe one or two ounces heavier than the name brand, but not a bad trade off for the extra durability. All told, this is a better shoe at an amazing price. My only worry is that they stop making them :)

Pretty good & sturdy
I use these as my outdoor shoes so I can't give too much info on the trail running part... but they are a decent wide toe box - not as wide as some shoes, but enough to be comfortable. Great color combo!

Comfortable Fit: So far so good
I’ve always thought I needed wide shoes because I’ve had trouble finding a good fit, but after seeing a podiatrist, I learned that I just needed shoes with a roomy toe box. This led me to try the HOBIBEAR Men's Trail Running Shoes, and I’m glad I did.I went with the black/green/orange pair, which caught my eye for their design (the pop of orange is a nice touch). Even though I usually wear an 8.5 or 9, I went with the size 8 Amazon recommended. They were a little tight out of the box, but after wearing them around the house for a few days, they stretched out nicely and became really comfortable.I recently took them on a hike, and they performed well—no rubbing, no blisters, and no soreness afterward. They’re lightweight and breathable, which kept my feet comfortable throughout. I’m really pleased with how they’ve fit so far, though time will tell how durable they are. Overall, I’m happy with this purchase and might consider getting another pair in the blue color.

Review After 60 days: Trash!
I have had these shoes for just 60 days. During that time I have hiked less than 20 miles. The shoes are now COMPLETELY FALLING APART! The glue in 5 places is failing entirely. They are not even wearable at this point. They look nice out of the box (as you can see from other new shoe reviews), but they do not last even 2 months!!! I contacted their support and I was told "sorry. it's been more than 30 days". DO NOT BUY!!!

Very squishy and runs small.
I knew I was kinda rolling the dice on these.Even though I was able to fit the insole from my previous pair of shoes into these with no issue, they still seemed about a half inch too short. With the insole removed it was a little better, but my big toe still readily hit the front of the shoe. I think maybe the padding near the heel forces your foot forward? Not a big deal if you've got small feet, but I already wear a US13 and that's the largest size many shoe companies want to make, so I can't size up. I don't know why, but this seems to be a common issue in the zero drop shoe world. I have to wear a 14 in Lems and Astral as well.Otherwise, the shoes seemed like pretty good quality. The midsole is a much squishier EVA foam than I personally like, but you might love it. The rubber outsole completely covers the bottom of the shoe (no idea why other companies are always putting cutouts in the bottom of the outsole and exposing the fragile midsole), and it seemed to have pretty good traction and reasonably aggressive lugs. I'm disappointed I won't get to really try 'em out. The provided insoles also have a lot of squish. Way too much for my liking, but to each their own. Maybe they're trying to bring the squishiness of Hokas to the zero drop world? Could be a solid choice if that's what you're looking for.The toe box was roomy, minus the overall shoe length issue. No idea about longevity. If you wear smaller than a 13 and like a lot of squish, they're certainly worth a try.

Impressed, what a gem find!
Great sneakers for walking and hiking. Took them on whole day hikes during trip to Lake Tahoe/Mammoth areas. Then onto Nevada and Utah. I put small orthopedic $10 or less insoles UNDER the original insoles to make them feel fuller and for more support. I will say that on the whole trip where there were rocks and all sorts of terrain these held up greatly. Now I wear them for dailies as well. For the price what a find! I had been looking for shoes like these since hiking shoes can be quite heavy at times. These felt great all day in the summer heat. The only thing is that the original insoles do cause a little sliding of the front since they also designed the front of shoe to be wider. I got exact size to my normal shoes, did not size up or down and they fit great for me. One of my toes felt a lil bruised after a whole day 50k+ steps hike but no nail jams or nothing was back to normal in about 1-2 days. I'd say get the extra padding and you're good to go.

Good budget shoes
Toe box too narrow for me, particularly the pinky toe area.But...very comfortable. Easy to slide on and off. They are pretty flexible, but I wouldn't call them true barefoot/minimalist shoes.Great tread, provide lots of grip.I'm gonna keep them and wear them in.Compared to the $150 brand name competition, these are worth it.
