Great build, great aesthetics
Really love the build quality and aesthetics of this shoe! I have really wide feet and this doesn’t look as crazy as some other barefoot shoes. I like lifting weights in them as well. Very solid shoe w/ zero drop keeps me grounded. Definitely will be buying another pair in a different color

Not a barefoot feel, but great zero drop, wide toe box, and breathable shoes
I got the Grey shoes in size 9 Wide. These are marketed and sized as men’s shoes. I needed zero drop shoes with a wide toe box, as well as the features of breathability, a low and somewhat smooth sole, and removable insoles so I can use my orthotic insoles. These shoes fit all those criteria. My comments are all in the context of wearing the shoes with my orthotic insoles, which are a little thicker than the included insoles. I wear women’s size 10-11 or men’s size 9 shoes. I need a wider shoe than women’s regular shoes, but women’s wide shoes do not fit me well. So I buy men’s regular width shoes, which generally match women’s wide width, which is perfect for me. As far as I can tell, these men’s “wide” shoes fit like other men’s regular width shoes with a wide toe box. These shoes are made in China. As for the length, men’s size 9 tends to be a close fit with just a little room beyond the toes. These shoes run just a smidge shorter than other brands for the same size. My right foot is a little longer, and sometimes my right big toe presses into the end of the shoe. Most of the time, though, the shoes fit comfortably. As for the color, I would prefer that they have an olive green. The grey is okay, though. I think the main fabric and pleather at the shoelaces, sides, and tongue, are the same shade and tend toward a cool grey. The sueded end is a slightly different shade of grey, and a little warmer color. For the soles, again, I prefer less contrast. I think the shoes look nice. The shoelaces seem to have some grip, so they do not come undone. If they accumulate dirt, they can slip loose more easily. The branding seems low key enough, black text or logo on the dark grey. These are sturdy shoes that fit expected sizing, look good, and are a reasonable price. My feet feel protected, and comfortable, in these shoes.

So far, so good. I like them.
I got myself a pair of wide toe box sneakers last year. I wanted to see what kind of impact they would have on my feet. If any. It turned out that I liked them a lot. My toes definitely enjoy the freedom of a roomy toe box. I even felt a positive impact on my legs and hip joints. Those sneakers looked more like a traditional running sneaker, but had less cushioning and, of course, the wider toe box. I appreciated that they didn't have the goofy look of some wide toe box sneakers. Once I put them on, they look pretty much like any other running type sneaker. Everyone that I showed them to while I was wearing them, couldn't tell that they were wide toe box sneakers. With that it mind, I thought I'd give these Hobibear sneakers a try. These sneakers are advertised as being "barefoot" and "zero drop". They definitely have even less cushioning than my aforementioned sneakers. While I wouldn't say these are "barefoot" sneakers, there definitely isn't a lot between the soles of your feet and the sidewalk. The toe box also feels a little wider on these than on my other sneakers. Upon first impression, they do have a little bit of a goofy look to them. But, once I put them on, they look pretty good. I haven't really put them to the test yet, but so far, I do like them. You should know what you're getting before you try this type of sneaker. They're probably not for everyone. Also, they may take some getting used to. If you have foot or leg issues, they may be worth a shot.

Excellent First Zero-Drop Experience, Good Traction & Comfort
As someone new to zero-drop barefoot shoes, I'm genuinely impressed with these sneakers! They've been a comfortable introduction to minimalist footwear.Real-World Testing:I put these through a medium-distance run to really test their performance, and the traction was excellent even on slippery surfaces. The high-traction rubber outsole delivered reliable grip throughout, giving me confidence on varied terrain. The thin sole provides authentic ground feedback without feeling vulnerable or unprotected.Zero-Drop Transition:The zero-drop design is definitely noticeably different from my regular running shoes—you can immediately feel the more natural foot position. However, it wasn't uncomfortable or problematic. After my run, I experienced no bad effects, soreness, or strain, which speaks well to the shoe's design for those transitioning to barefoot-style footwear. I plan to keep wearing them to assess long-term adaptation, but early signs are very positive.Comfort & Fit:Wide toe box provides excellent room—no pinching or pressureLightweight and breathable fabric keeps feet coolFlexible sole moves naturally with your footBottom Line: For anyone curious about zero-drop or barefoot-style shoes, these are an excellent entry point at a great price. Good traction, comfortable transition, and solid build quality. So far, so good—highly recommend!
