Don't judge a book by its cover
I've been struggling with foot pain for the past few months and have always leaned towards Brooks brand. I know that I need a wide toe box so I tried these out. To be completely honest they kind of resemble a clown shoe when you look down at your feet however it's totally worth it because they are incredibly incredibly did I say incredibly comfortable?! I think the size is very wide which is what we're looking for giving your toes room to do their thing. The price is crazy good considering I've spent closer to 200 a pair of shoe many times and these were 40. I can't tell if it's because I'm not used to a wide shoe they look so clown-esque but I don't even care. I will order at least two or three more pair. The only thing I wish it had a little tiny bit more arch support but I understand it's trying to go for a barefoot thing. I saw in the reviews some people said they felt they were slippery? I didn't feel that at all while walking in the rain today. Not stiff ,they are very flexible without being loosey goosey. Absolutely worth a shot.

good quality, kind of dorky
The fit and quality are great and these are comfortable shoes. However, the extra wide toe box looks a bit dorky - sort of like orthopedic shoes. I wear them hiking and taking walks, but not at all for fashion.

Bowling shoes
These look and feel like bowling shoes. Width is good. Length seems short. They’re stiff and clunky. Traction is excellent, Almost like a hiking shoe. They’re comfortable but not for all day wear due to the stiffness. And quite honestly. They’re hideous.

Shoes are not true to size.
Hobibear shoes are not true to size. I wear an 8.5 and I originally bought a size 9 for comfort fit for walking. That pair was a size 10 which for me was an 1.5 too long and I am returning those.I decided to order a size 8 and I got them today and they are a size 9 and that's what I wanted. They are super comfortable due to the wide toe box.

So far I've bought three pairs of this style of shoe in different colors. I love them. I usually spend $150 or more on special shoes as I have foot, ankle and spinal problems. In these shoes I feel so stable and connected to the ground. They are so reasonably priced and well made. I've bought other Hobibear styles and they were also very comfy and well made. I'm plan to get my toddler grandson some of them.UPDATEAt the top of my review it said I bought a size 9. No, I bought a women's size 8. I normally wear a 8.5 but I find the 8 fits perfect in these shoes. I also wanted to address the sole as some reviewers mentioned it is too thin. I cannot walk without shoes as my feet/soles are too sensitive, and I like the fact I can walk in these soles and feel the ground, but without the pain when I step on jagged rocks. I'm doing a lot of outdoor work in these shoes and they are holding up so well. They still look almost new.
