This is fresh out of the box!! Haven’t given them a wear in the garden (got them for garden and gulch use in a rainforest climate). I’m normally a 7.5, I got a size 7 and they fit great. I went based on the European size (38) which i’ve gotten that size in birkenstocks. It was a little loose around the heel on my foot which couldddd be a potential issue but with a pair of thick socks on I think there shouldn’t be anything to worry about. Overall, I love them. They are absolutely fabulous. It’s a beautiful red. It’s deep, not “fire hydrant” red but it’s bricky, earthy, very yummy and pleasing to the eyes.

Not for short people but overall a great boot!
It rains a lot here in Colorado during the summer. I've ruined two pairs of flats and another pair of shoes just walking in the rain and in mud. I saw these in Dillard's and the glossy red really caught my eye, however not the price. I left these on my wish list and one day the price dropped. I'm a shorter girl (5'2") so these are a little uncomfortable to drive in. They aren't too bad for walking in, they're super cozy! When I drive around the top of the boot hits the top of my leg and it feels like it's cutting in. Throw an extra pair of shoes in your car if you're in this situation! I went with my shoe size and did not size down like other's have recommended. They fit just fine however find a decent pair of thick socks or the boot will wiggle a little. It's pretty easy to scuff these up. As I was walking around I noticed I was rubbing the sides of both boots together, not noticeable but something to keep in mind. They are easy to clean and are of good quality, worth every penny!
