I can't complain, but I do have some thoughts
From the design, to the packaging, to the feel, to the ease of wearing them, etc. I am just very satisfied with these boots.Hunter is continuing with the high quality footwear that they are well known for. They feel solid and durable, and there are no weird odors. I would not call these boots lightweight, because the bottom of the boots do have some heft to them.They are classified as rain boots, so I wouldn't consider wearing these as general winter boots, as they don't seem to have the insulation to deal with cold weather.One thing is that I wish it had half sizes, as that would help with getting a better fit, especially if you plan to wear thick socks with these (in which case, you would need to get a 1/2 size up). While I like the brown of the "Dark Natural Leather" color, I wish they had a color of solid black.With all of that being said, as much as I really like these boots, unless I live in a region where it rains majority of the year, I definitely wouldn't pay $225 for a pair of rain boots.

These waterproof rain boots definitely live up to their name and I am very pleased!! These performed well in our recent downpour and my feet stayed nice and dry! I am excited to see how these do come snow season. These boots are heavy duty and well made, with a sturdy non slip sole and waterproof materials up to mid calf. The ankle and calf portion of the boot has both an elastic cinch feature and a zipper to ensure a snug and comfortable fit that will not allow water down into the boot. I have not tried these in water above the top of the boot but for ankle deep water, these are great. I am looking forward to the coming snow and trying these out! So far I am very pleased and I would definitely recommend!

These boots are amazing! Extremely high quality and they look great too!
So, I have never owned a pair of rain boots, or galoshes as my mom calls them. These are not your typical galoshes! They are really pretty. They are very true to size...my size 10 fits me perfectly! I also love the color of them. They are a really rich khaki and will match with really any color scheme. They remind me very much of my Sorel winter boots, which I have had for over 20 years. I haven't gotten a chance to wear them in the rain, mud, sleet yet, but they are extremely warm and super comfortable.. I wore them to my son's football game and not only did they look extremely stylish, they were super comfortable on top of it!

Awesome looking! Squishy soles. Warm. Foot is waterproof BUT upper is only water resistant.
These fit reasonably true to size. My usual size is 10 to 10 1/2, I ordered size 10 Skylar rain boots and they are perhaps a smidge smaller than I would like but I'm making it work.It's the day before Thanksgiving and it's snowy. and windy. Earlier in the year I set these boots aside because I felt that they were a little too insulated and bulky for ordinary rainy days. I finally got them out today for a walk to a park by the lake not too far from my home. The soles, particularly the heels, have a squishy feel that makes them feel a little like walking in sand that bogs you down, so they might not be ideal hiking footwear but for more casual usage are good for foot comfort. The traction on the wet but not icy sidewalk was good.You can see in the photos that it was very windy and when I was determined to take photos of my awesome looking boots with the waves as the backdrop, I was in the splash zone. Rain boots should be tested by getting them wet, right? All of me got wet in the pursuit of reviewing these boots. My coat, my hair, and my camera which some of the buttons stopped working till it dried out. So, did my feet stay dry? No, my feet did not stay dry. My feet got wet as soon as a wave crashed over me. The uppers look like they are meant to exclude water, but are apparently not waterproof. The rubber foot is doubtless waterproof, but it doesn't come up very high so I admit I was hoping for waterproof uppers. This need is not only for situations in which I do something daft like allow waves to crash over me on a cold day; It has happened to me more than once as a pedestrian in my urban neighborhood that during and after intense rain the streets have unavoidable deep water at certain intersections enough to flood any shoes other than tall rain boots. I was naturally hoping that these would perform like tall rain boots, but unfortunately in that department they are no substitute for "Wellington" boots (the product that I primarily associate with Hunter brand). If my feet get so wet from intense lake splashing they would also get wet from stepping these boots into deep street puddles. It's a trade-off. I was concerned earlier in the year that these shoes were too hot, but they would be even hotter if the uppers were really waterproof. Of course, if you only encounter shallower puddles and do not splash too much the full rubber foot of the Skylar boot would keep you dry.So, the next test of the boots was, would my now soaked feet be cold? Actually, no, my feet didn't get cold on the half mile or so walk home, although much of the rest of me was cold, and my hair froze and there was a coating of ice over large areas of my coat by the time I got there. It was about 30 degrees, which is not particularly frigid, though the wind made it feel colder. The fact that my feet were squelching wet but still not uncomfortable makes me pretty sure that these boots will be useful for winter, at least in mild to moderate conditions.However they are NOT going to be easy to get dried out, because the foot is fully lined and the lining is not removable. Water has soaked into it. I wish I had electric boot dryers but I do not. I took the insoles out and stuffed some paper in. The problem I have had with trying to dry flooded rain boots in the past is that if they are not able to dry quickly they will start to smell. And although the specific leather on these boots is good quality and impregnated with oils and waxes to endure getting wet any leather that stays damp for too long can potentially mold. So, getting these boots wet was probably a bad move. The amount of fabric inside of them seems impractical for boots that are so likely to get wet.Although they are stylish I don't buy rain boots to look cute but to keep my feet dry, and these are not exceptionally functional for that. They are comfortable footwear, and there are a range of uses for which they would be great. Years ago I owned a horse (which is how I was familiar with Hunter, a brand associated in my mind with the English countryside and equestrian culture), and I believe these would be quite practical and suitable barn boots for chores and mucking stalls, in fact I bought a different name-brand of "duck boots" that were way, way less satisfactory than these and I almost immediately had to throw them away because they were not sturdy as stall mucking boots. These Hunter boots on the contrary would be excellent for that purpose---much better than they are as rain boots honestly. The nylon lining of the shaft that is able to cinch closed at the top would be effective for keeping pine shavings other bedding or hay out of my boots.
