Comfortable shoes
Squeeked at first but then everything was great!
I grabbed these mainly out of curiosity. I’m typically use a different brand, but those are triple the cost of these and other alternatives, so I wanted to see what more budget friendly “orthotic” sneaker could realistically do and honestly they do a lot better than I expected.I have very wide feet and these in 10.5 Wide actually fit without squeezing anything. If anything, I think a size 10 might have fit me even better length wise as there’s a bit more room at the toe than I’m used to (pictures included showing the gap at the heel and where my toe sits in at the front). However, since these were sent for review I can’t exchange, so I worked with what I got. Still comfortable enough to use daily. Just something to keep in mind when ordering your own.The heel is… different for me. It sits higher and feels like my heel needs to “settle” back into it as I walk, almost like it wants to correct my stride. I’m not sure of the science behind it but I did notice I walked straighter in these compared to my normal shoes. There’s an adjustment period though; it took me about two days of indoor use before the feeling stopped distracting me, and for a slight adjustment pain in my lower back to subside. The removable arch-support sticker insert is actually a nice touch. You can dial it into where your arch actually sits rather than a once-arch-placement-fits-all approach. I probably spent far too long finding the perfect placement as it is novel to me. I've included photos of the insole insert, which is slightly thinner than I'm used to. Easy to remove, easy to add the arch sticker, and likely easy to replace though. They work just fine as the defaults.Build quality seems fine for the price. Mine arrived shrink-wrapped with no box, which looks odd at first, but the shoes themselves weren’t damaged. They’re comfortable, stable, and surprisingly supportive, just not the type of shoe that disappears on your foot like a well-broken-in other (much more expensive) brand. I’m always aware I’m wearing these, but not in a painful way. The look and feel is a bit "cheap" with the black plastic at the bottom, but it's a small complaint and I go for function more than style myself anyway. For $55, these make a solid budget orthotic option. I’ll be using them on days when the weather is bad or I don’t want to risk my other shoes. If you need wide sizing, arch support, or plantar fasciitis relief and want to stay on a budget, these are worth a look. 5 stars for value and what they deliver.
Orthotic Walking ShoesWe’re forever chasing that unicorn of comfort and support in shoes, so I picked up a pair of these for my SO—a guy who can wear out a pair of sneakers just by glaring at a gravel path. His verdict?Size/Fit – Nailed it at a true-to-size 13. His feet had plenty of room, with no cramped toes.Comfort – The shoes are lightweight. The “ride” is plush, but the heel-to-toe roll takes a minute to get used to—think walking on a gentle seesaw. They claim “orthotic”, but the arch support alone is about as convincing as my willpower at a donut shop. Add the stick-on arch cushion, though, and you’re back in business. Otherwise, be prepared for a little inward roll. The bottom does not have deep grooves, but there is no problem with grip.Look/Design – We chose the Grey/Black, and just like the ad, there’s a blue tint that makes them pair perfectly with jeans. Stylish enough to earn a double take, but won’t upstage your socks. They came in a tight vacuum plastic bag that caused them to come out a bit squished, but the shape returned in a few hours.Value – Long-term durability is still a mystery, but for the price, the out-of-the-box comfort is a solid win. All in all, they’re not quite shoe royalty—but good for daily wear.
The IIV walking shoes were ordered for use casual walking and everyday use.I have a tendency toward plantar fasciitis, and decided to order these as a hopeful help alleviating some of the symptoms.First, I wear a size 13 D shoe, and these shoes though listed as a "Wide" fit me perfectly in length and width. Frankly, I had some initial issues getting used to the additional height added due to the increased thickness of the soles. Also, there is some "roll" front to back in the sole, so that was also different in feel. I felt as if when moving forward I would topple over in the front. And, if I tilted back I would fall over backwards. After wearing the shoes for a day, that feeling went away. It is just the difference in the way the shoes are constructed. After I had walked in them for about 1 hour, my feet began to like the difference in the construction of the shoes. The roll actually helped cushion my feet more adequately, and I got over the odd feeling. And, these shoes felt great when walking for the entire day. My feet never felt tired, and that is a significant relief. The price of these shoes isis inexpensive in comparison to some others that are deemed to be orthotic walking shoes. These walking shoes are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever ordered, and I would definitely order them again.
