These shoes were purchased for disc golfing. On my second round of use the shoestrings broke. On the 3rd round after replacing the shoestrings, an eyelet ripped out. after creating a new eyelet with braided fishing line, 2 more eyelets ripped out. Now i'm noticing the mesh on the top of the foot ripping apart at the toe crease. The soles of the shoes held up well so far but the reset of the shoe has not.
I've been using Inov-8 295 shoes (now replaced by the 290's) for years for backpacking and I've never had an issue with the quality. This go around, I decided to try the 315 GTX which are a little more waterproof. After only 5 hikes, the side of one of the shoes split wide open. Upon closer look, the material appears to be very susceptible to failure. Like others have noted, these are comfortable, but will not last. Don't waste your money on these.
I bought these shoes in March 2020, primarily to walk the dog without getting my feet wet. Great comfort and fit. Unfortunately, the lacing system tore out just as in the other review. I contacted INOV8 and they told me since I bought it on Amazon, to contact the seller. I have tried to contact the seller, Outland USA, but have heard no response. It is very disappointing that a trail shoe lacing system fails from dog walking and even more disappointing of failed customer service by Outland USA.
