Does not fit narrow feet like previous Inov8 shoes
Not good for narrow feet. I've run in Inov8 should for several years. The G290 was my favorite trail shoe but is now discontinued. I tried these in the same size and they were too large in comparison. Went down half a size to see if that helps. Lengthwise they are fine, but still too loose. They have a noticeably wider toe box which might not be bad by itself, but the front midfoot also seems to be looser as a result. Even if I crank down the laces to be uncomfortably tight, my foot still feels like it is swimming around inside the shoe. The heel does not lock in well either. Running in these shoes for me is injury just waiting to happen. It seems Inov8 is incorporating more "maximalist" shoe trends which is not what I want in a technical trail shoe. I will be looking for another brand that feels more fitted. I will say that the grip from the outsole is fantastic, and for that it earns 2 stars rather than just 1.
