Fits well, comfortable, keeps my feet from hurting. I have bone spurs.
One of my foot pads is in pain if I walk or stand on it for too long. And I reinjured it again all the time making it take a long time heal. I purchased some EVA cushioned slippers to wear around the house, and they worked wonders. I found that I could take long walks with no pain. So then with the summer coming around again, I was looking for some shoes with really good heel padding for long walks. And I opted to invest in these Nike Air Max shoes build for running on paved roads - figuring I’d get the most cushion ever.My first thought is that, although these shoes are black and white, they are not cute. The white sole is plainly visible from all angles. The black is shiny. The pink check on the heel I could have done without. And the Nike logo on the top of the shoe make me want to go over it with a black marker. Said otherwise, les is more. And, I feel like these shoes would be inappropriate to wear at even semi-casual events (although I would anyway as to not be in pain). When I put the shoes on, they started growing on me. They were SOOO comfortable! And it has cushion build up before the heel pad AND soft cushion at heel strike, so they are really gentle on the heels. With this, I feel confident that I can go on long walks without having to carry my shoes and limp back. Otherwise, I liked the arches and have no complaints about the toe box. Some downsides - The treads might be slippery on wet surfaces. I have not worn these shoes in the rain yet, but I have another pair of Nikes with the same treads, and they are very slippery on wet surfaces. So, I think they are better suited for pavement than wet smooth floors. Secondly, the heels have an extended trapezoidal shape cushion is very stabilizing. So, if your ankles prefer to turn while you run, these might take a bit of getting used to. Maybe. It doesn’t bother me, but I can feel the difference when I walk in them.Unexpected upsides are that my feet breathe very well in these shoes and I don’t need to add a supplemental heel cushion. In fact, these fit my needs so well that they have excelled expectations in the practical aspects - so the look is starting to grow on me. If you are looking for cushiony and stable road runners, or shoes for foot issues, these shoes may be an excellent choice for you.
