A little tight.

Evidently a 12M is not similar to a 12D. I usually wear two pair of socks, one cotton and one wool with a 12D boot. When I bought this "setter" I also bought a very much cheaper brand of Chinese manufacture in 12D which fit as expected. This 12M "setter" made in Vietnam fits very tight. I cannot get into them with the two pair of socks on but decided to keep them because they fit well enough with just the cotton socks on, though tight, and surely the leather will stretch with time. I am just saying, watch out a bit. The boots are not bad, though the heels are very high. I feel like some woman may have designed these to get back at the men that had the women wearing high heels a generation or two back. In a job where not much walking is needed, they add a little height and self presence, but if you expect to walk around in them, look first for a lower heel. Basically I mean that they take a bit of getting used to. This would be especially true if you usually wear Birkenstocks. Again, otherwise the construction appears sound and a little more elegant than the Chinese pair I bought for a little more than half the price of these and that pair appears to be as soundly built as these.

FANTASTIC BOOT. I’ve worn timberlands, chips, and now these. These are without a doubt my favorite. I’m a shipyard foreman and I’m all over the place all day. Besides not feeling like I’m walking around in bulky cement blocks, they required almost ZERO break-in. They’re a good looking boot instead of looking like something a comic-book villain would wear. I can’t talk about durability, as I’ve only been wearing them a month and a half or so, but they’re super comfortable. Will buy another pair if these last.
