Awesome boots
Fit perfectly. Great quality materials and construction. Warm, comfortable, and waterproof. This 9" Steel toe logger work boot from Irish setter, continues the tradition of a rugged work boot made with durable materials. That's a real winner, and this is the perfect gift idea for the most important people in your life. It's a great value as these are made to last for a good many years. The outsole is non slip rubber from Vibram and you can pretty much take these things hiking if you really wanted to. The material inside will definitely keep your feet dry too which is always my biggest concern with these. Many times, your feet will get sweaty and then out in the cold, it will cause them to be uncomfortable. There's plenty of room for heavier socks if you like, but they're decently warm with hiking socks as well. The sole has a good wet and dry grip, and they're waterproof as advertised. I rode a motorcycle 3 hours in steady rain and me feet stayed warm and dry. The construction is great, and the materials are heavy-duty as expected for work boots. They also come with a decent insole, so you don't have to immediately get Dr Scholls if you don't want to. The break-in period is normal, but they were comfortable enough for all-day use right out of the box. These boots keep your feet from getting all sweated up no matter how thick your socks are. It allows them to breath comfortably while staying nice and warm. This is the non-insulated waterproof version, and provides good comfort with solid support and protection. These are the type of boots that will make it so you don't notice. Really! I used these to do a day of cutting wood for the upcoming winter season. This means cutting fallen trees up, carrying that to the truck and then coming home to split them all up for putting in the fireplace or wood stove. On uneven ground you want a boot that will keep you ankle supported so even if you step onto uneven ground, you won't get a sprain...which is very easy to do when doing wood. Nice lace system ensures a secure and snug fit every time. The chocolate leather construction looks as good as it performs. A solid value.

Great boots but are there better options?
I really can't find a fault per se with these boots. They are super durable, both upper and sole, both with enough stiffness to feel protective without being the clunkiest workboots around. They are properly waterproof, with a gusseted tongue that goes above the ankle before transitioning to floating. The grommets are also great, both in usability and placement, they open up the boot enough for you to strap in comfortably and are shaped for good lace locking without frustration threading. And I think they look great (when they aren't filthy, as work boots often are) with the color and build. I would wholeheartedly recommend them......but Irish setter makes three variants of this boot. This one, another one with the steel toe, and a third with the steel toe and insulated. I have the steel toe variant as well and I find the weight difference so subtle that unless I was constantly working on or around electricity and just paranoid about conductivity. I also find the boot quite nicely warm already, but if you live/work somewhere that is truly cold, I think the insulation could be worth it. Given that only the insulated version is more expensive, I would probably choose the steel toe. But I can definitely say two of the three are fantastic boots.

Excellent waterproof work boots with great comfort and build quality
These Irish Setter boots have really impressed me. They’re built tough, both the leather upper and the sole feel durable and protective without being overly stiff or heavy. The waterproofing actually works. I’ve worn them through mud, puddles, and wet ground with no leaks at all. The tread has deep grip that doesn’t clog easily, and it stays steady when walking back on pavement. The 9 inch height gives great ankle support, though it can feel snug at first until the leather breaks in and softens. The lacing system is smartly designed with hooks that make them easier to get on and off, and it’s easy to fine tune the fit. I really appreciate that they fit true to size, even for wide feet, and the toe box has plenty of room. They’re warm, comfortable, and surprisingly breathable for heavy duty boots. The craftsmanship is top notch with great stitching, solid hardware, and quality materials all around. These are easily some of the best boots I’ve owned, and I’d recommend them to anyone who needs reliable waterproof work or outdoor boots that will hold up for years.

WOW: I Love These Boots!
It’s always hard to find a boot that fits (Size 11 EE) and that does NOT have a built in arch (I have completely flat feet) but these match my requirement perfectly! There is an insert with a slight arch that I can replace if needed, but the boot itself doesn’t have a built in arch. The workmanship is top notch: great stitching, the heel and soles feel wonderful - not too stiff with just the right amount of “give” to them. These boots are very tall and once you’ve laced them up you will hardly be able to flex your ankles, which is great for certain types of work such as logging (surprise, surprise) and climbing, etc. As an added bonus these do not have steel toes - hey, who really wants their feet crimped into a steel vice if they drop something on their foot? These are my new favorite work boots!Sizing: I ordered exactly the size I needed and these fit very well.I can definitely recommend these Irish Setter boots!
