These Irish Setter Wingshooters get the job done, no question. Broke in easy, super comfortable, and hold up strong even in the Maui heat and rain. Good grip on muddy ground, dry fast, and still look clean after a long day. Real solid boot — worth every penny.
Great boot, perform better than advertised, most comfortable boots out of the box definitely I have owned. I spent almost thirty years in a uniform, with my Danner Arcadia boots. I thought they were the best. Then I happened upon an Amazon deal for a pair of Red Setter, Wingshooter, boots for less than $100. Although never owning a pair, many friends and co-workers bragged of their Irish Setter boots. Since I purchased this pair I'm very impressed with the comfort and quality. My only complaint is that I can't confirm my Irish Setter boots are totally American construction. Not a snob, but obviously prefer to support America and it's workers. But must repeat these are nice boots.
This pair didn’t have the usual ‘basketball’ leather. That was always a turnoff for a few weeks until they broke in. These are comfortable, warm, and dry straight out of the box. I always recommend a good leather oil or wax to be applied before wearing. Apply again in a month or so.

High quality boots. The textured leather is attractive and they seem very durable. The liner has kept my feet dry in deep snow and mild rain.I initially bought them as a 4 season boot but that was a mistake. These are definite cold weather boots. If the temperature gets above the 50’s (farenheit) they get too warm for me. I like them and will keep and wear them in our cold Idaho winters but spring through fall they will get very little use.I’m not a fan of the light colored sole—I think when they get resoled it will have to be black, but as far as style, durability, and quality of the build go, these are really good boots.
I want to preface this review by saying that I am only in my second day wearing these boots, but so far I'm super impressed with them. The craftsmanship is really good, especially for the price point. The fit is right on. I actually went to my local Red Wing store to get fitted. I tried on several boots and they all felt good on me, but I liked the look of these the best. I would have bought them right then from Red Wing, but they were out of stock in my size for the style I wanted and were not able to get them within the time frame that I needed them, so I was glad to find them here. I would definitely recommend getting fitted by a professional before buying. I discovered that my Red Wing size was actually slightly bigger than what I had been buying. I am certain that being fitted first contributes to my enjoyment of and comfort in these boots. They fit me perfectly and right out of the box they feel like I have worn them for a while. In other words, they basically already feel like they are broken in and I only expect them to get better as I wear them. As a guy who owns many pairs of boots from several quality brands, I really have to give it up to Red Wing for the design of these Irish Setter Wingshooters. They are definitely quality boots from a quality brand. I can easily recommend them. I will update if anything changes.
