My uncle, or "drunckle" as he is affectionately known, has a Harley-Davidson. It is a beautiful machine that has been sitting on a trailer in his yard for the last five years, waiting for him to "fix it up." Last Christmas, I gave him a set of brand-new leather saddlebags for it. They look great on the stationary bike. This year, I decided to lean into the theme and got him these motorcycle boots. My logic was, if the bike isn't going anywhere, at least his feet can look the part.The boots arrived, and I was genuinely impressed with the quality for the price. The material looks and feels like nice leather, and the slick black finish is stylish. They have a classic combat boot design with a side zipper, which is a great touch. It makes them easy to get on and off without having to mess with the laces every time. I checked the stitching and the soles, and everything seemed solid and well-made.I gave them to him as an early Christmas gift. He opened the box and his eyes lit up. He tried them on right away and said they were surprisingly comfortable. He walked around the living room, his posture a little straighter, a hint of a swagger in his step (or maybe that was the booze). He looked down at the boots, then out the window at the trailer. "These would feel great on the foot pegs," he said with a grin. "I really need to fix 'er up"These boots are a great mix of fashion and function. They look rugged enough for a motorcycle but are stylish enough to wear as casual boots. For my uncle, they are a piece of the dream. Maybe seeing them by the door every day will be the final motivation he needs to get that bike running. Or maybe he will just have the coolest footwear in the liquor store. Either way, five stars for making an old rider dream a little.

Accurate sizing. Looks GREAT, lightweight, but thin leather scratches easily. No steel toe

So, accurate sizing.You can secure these with the zipper or the shoelaces. Despite the heel, these don't make you much taller because your feet sit so low in the boots. Comfort is barely tolerable due to the lack of cushioning.FIT: Thanks to the side zipper and shoelaces, you have 2 ways of wearing these. You can wear boots with good ankle support in a secure fit by lacing boots up tightly. Or, leave some slack initializes and you can quickly put these on/remove via the side zipper.SIZE: I ordered my true boot size. These boots fit just on me with no room to spare. Sizing is accurate. If you plan to wear thick socks, you may want to upsize by 1/2 to 1 full size.COMFORT: I understand that boots are not supposed to be as comfortable as sneakers but these had no cushion inside. My feet sat very low in the boot so any lift effect from the heel was negated. Fortunately there is enough room inside these boots to insert an add-on cushion.MATERIAL QUALITY: These boots have a clean polished look thanks to the PU leather "PU" material. The good thing about this type of material is PU doesn't require the typical maintenance of typical leather - no need to polish, waterproof, etc. The drawback to this PU is it's very thin. A scratch will reveal the undyed, unfinished material underneath. The PU is soft and scratches really easily. Unlike leather, you can't just fill in these scratches with polish. It's not self healing like that. I wouldn't recommend wearing these for mountain climbing. For clubbing and urban life these are great. They look like motorcycle/tanker boots without any of that heavy weight.FINAL THOUGHTS: Remember, you get what you pay for. The reason why these are priced so low is because it's not made from supple leather. This is PU. It looks good but lacks durability. Sizing is accurate unless you plan to wear a thicker socks and then you may want to upsize by a half. Despite the thick heel, the height boost is minimal because of how low your foot sits inside the boots. These boots aren't painful but they are not "sneaker comfortable" either due to the minimal cushioning. These boots look like tanker boots but without all the weight. One last thing - Despite the title saying these are combat boots, these do NOT have steel toe reinforcements.

Stylish and Easy On/Off—Just Watch the Sizing
The #1 feature of these boots is the zipper. Over the years, I’ve owned plenty of tall lace-up boots, and more than once I’ve passed on wearing them simply because dealing with the laces felt like a chore. You can’t exactly kick them off at the door—and since we don’t wear shoes in the house, that matters. With these, you dial in the laces once, then just use the zipper to get them on and off. Slick and practical.These Jousen men’s boots also look sharp. I went with the BLACKPU version so they wouldn’t be overly shiny. The construction looks decent, and the materials are lightweight—you don’t feel like you’re walking around with ankle weights.A few observations worth noting:They run large. I ordered a 9.5 (half a size up from my normal), and my feet were swimming in them. I should’ve gone with a 9 or even an 8.5. I ended up gifting them to my son, who wears a 10.5, and they fit him perfectly with a little room to spare. He also wears orthotics and said they work well in these boots—so they were a win, just not for me.These are not leather—they’re synthetic. That’s not a bad thing. It keeps the price down and makes them naturally resistant to water and snow without any special treatment. I buy leather boots when I want years of break-in followed by years of wear. These are comfortable and flexible right out of the box, though they probably won’t have the same lifespan as leather.The buckle on the heel seems purely decorative, but it does add to the overall look. No complaints there.Bottom line:Stylish, comfortable, easy-on/easy-off boots that are great for any day wear—just be sure to size down.
