Cozy for Scandinavia
I just got back from a December trip to Scandinavia, including Lapland, Finland where the temps were in the teens Fahrenheit, and these kept my feet super cozy and warm, especially with a good pair of wool socks. I also wore them traveling to save space and weight, and my feet didn't get too hot either. They were easy to slip on and off, which is exactly why I got the ankle-height style. I like that the outer has a rubber toe and back so I could use ice spikes and snowshoes without worrying about destroying them. They have a really good tread and I felt confident on slick surfaces, though straight ice was still a little sketchy. The inner soles didn't offer very much support, though, but some Dr. Scholl's gel inserts did the trick. I wore them every day of our 10-day trip, and they were super comfortable and perfect.

Fits great and super warm

Almost Perfect, Well Made
I've used these in some VERY cold snowy conditions and they are warm and they do grip. My only wish: is that the soles were thicker. I feel too much of the surface of whatever I'm on...not terrible, but thicker would be better. That's the ONLY reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

Don’t believe the temperature rating
So sad to say that I am doubting these would hold up in subzero temperatures. I’ve had Sperry duck boots for a few years. They kept my feet dry, but not warm. I live in an area that gets a ton of snow and is very cold (0-20 degrees) for what feels like 6 months out of the year. I really wanted to invest in a pair of boots that would keep my feet dry AND warm and I thought these would be the answer. I’m sad to report that I wore them recently on a mild 40 degree evening when there wasn’t even any snow on the ground and I could feel cold on the bottoms of my feet, like they could feel the cold from the concrete. The tops of my feet felt warm, but the bottom of my feet could definitely feel a mild cold sensation. Not crazy cold, but there was a very noticeable difference from the top of my foot to the bottom. I plan on still keeping these and trying some warm shoe inserts I saw recently at Walmart to help. They do fit nice and feel good on my feet but was disappointed at the very misleading advertising of the cold rating. I don’t have high hopes for them for winter when snow is on the ground.
