These boots are excellent. Kamik is a great brand that always holds up well. I look forward to my younger son getting to wear this same pair in a few years. We live in Wisconsin and winter has come early this year! My son has gotten some use out of these boots already. They keep his feet warm and dry while he plays outside.
I love Kamik cold weather boots for my kids, especially the Rocket version. I don't shop for any other brands now, since I've tried a few, and these seem to always be superior. They can trudge through significant snow for hours during winter play, slosh through puddles, stomp through mud, and still keep my precious kiddos' feet dry and warm through it all. It cinches at the top to seal their calves/ankles off from snow getting into their boots, and there is an adjustable strap to keep things nice and snug at the ankle. As soon as my older son outgrows a pair of them, my youngest inherits them, and no matter how rough they are on them, they always seem to look and clean up practically like new with minimal maintenance. If they can hold up against my really active kids with minimal wear and tear, then that is saying a lot! :) These are worth every penny!I would also like to note that my youngest son has extra wide feet (we often special order his shoes), and these still fit him well.
We bought a pair of Kamik boots last year for my son after reading good reviews and seeing they were made in Canada. My son trashes the standard china made wal-mart boots every year and we bought that pair a bit big with the hope we could use two years. After the first year they still look nearly new. We liked those boots so well we bought another pair for my daughter this year. Kamik boots are also available in a Wide size which fits both my kids well. Kamik is the only boot I plan to buy again.
We are actually on our second year of using these. Keep feet warm and dry. Tall enough to get snow pants over them.
My son loves Winter. The first snowfall is his favorite day and he looks forward to it all year long. These boots keep up with him and keep his toes toasty warm. He rates them a ten. They look good, slide on and off easily, yet don't let snow get inside. What more could you want in a boot? These are perfection as far as he's concerned and they are the only brand he is interested in wearing. We're on our third year. I'll admit that last year, I tried getting him a cheaper pair from Lands End and my son was very unhappy and his feet did not stay nearly as warm. I'm convinced..from now on, it's Kamik's for us. If your children love winter, too, get these and you can trust that they'll be outside for hours and their feet will stay warm and dry. :)
The boots are rather/large and clunky for a 2 year old. Last year he had North Face boots that fit more to size for smaller feet. They will keep his feet warm and dry I'm sure, they are great quality, he just has a little bit of a difficult time navigating in them.
This is a poorly designed boot. It seems right but my child has size 11 feet and I. Bought a size 12 to allow some growth and use of extra socks for additional warmth. When I went to use the boot at the first snowfall I couldn't even get my sons foot into the boot. He was wincing as I tried repeatedly. Since it had been 35 days since I purchased it I had to pay a "restocking fee" of 20% to be able to return them. Grrrrr
