Wide toe box for comfy toes and excellent fit

I have worn size 10 for 30 years until a nice lady at a shoe store told me I was wearing the wrong size to compensate for my toe width.I now wear size 8.5 in the Keen Austin and my toes fit nicely w/o a wide heal and foot. This is my second pair to go along with the pair I purchased 2 months ago.I wear them 13 hours a day, so far mostly inside. The sole touches my foot from front to back which is actually odd for me, but excellent. The shoe lace metal eyelets are wide and can stay wide with very little tightening. My wife has only worn Keens for 10+ years. They are somewhat stiff for a couple of days and now they feel nicely like a glove around my foot.I've never had that wonderful feel. Nice and soft, yet supportive. Also, they give me room for the top of my toes and foot since other shoes are too tight there for me.Since they are leather they provide room that is not tight as most mesh shoes are too tight for my toes. They have a mesh cloth inside to make the fit more comfortable.I was concerned how soft they feel at this point and the length of wear, but my wife usually needs a replacement after 4 years or so.The inset is replaceable if you want your own.The strings come untied occasionally after 6 hours or so twice a week. They are not for hiking in rocky areas. I don't think they would stand up to rugged rocks and trails. I'm looking for a hiking shoe to do that. They are rather light in weight versus other leather shoes I've tried. My feet have hurt for years and not with these since my foot fits from heal to toe.My feet would slide from side to side and front to back in other size 10 shoes, and yet squeeze my toes. The shoe is shaped like my foot. What a miracle.I would highly recommend these shoes for people with wide toes versus heel & foot.

But they sure were comfortable when I tried them on

When I first saw these sandals in the store, I thought no way. I'm in my early 50's and thought I missed the window by probably 25 years. But they sure were comfortable when I tried them on. When I saw a decent price online I rolled the dice and bought a pair. They instantly became my go-to pair of sandals and I am considering a second pair in a different color. I never believe it when reviews state this, but honestly I have lost count of the number of people who have asked me about them. They usually say something along the lines of "I've never seen anything like those. They look comfortable." They're right on both counts. The sandals are exceptionally comfortable and keep your feet cool. In terms of comfort, it feels like you're wearing mesh socks.I have generally flat feet and take a 12.5 wide. I bought a 13 in these and they fit very well. There is some arch support, but not so much that it would make them unwearable for me. I wouldn't hike in them, but I don't hesitate to throw them on for a mile or two walk around the neighborhood with my wife or my dog. Really, really like these.

All around winner for me

Aside from running much too small - I say a full size rather than half as suggested - once you get a good fit these are incredibly comfortable and cool. They have a high arch but light soul, so good for walking but probably not best for hikes over uneven ground or rocks. I'll wear them next time I'm on a boat, too.Compared to Keen's great sandals these are for lighter duty. I like them loose but can see tightening them up if caught on a longer walk or over more uneven ground than expected.I should also add that the seller is very accommodating, and paid return postage for the first pair that was too small. There is only a $6.95 restocking fee if you select a pair that is not Amazon Prime.

Good looking and Bullet Proof!

These shoes have lasted 2 years. Have used it every day for either work, casual outings and travel.. They fit perfectly. I wear a size 10M. The toe box is slightly wider than other brands which is what I love the most about Keen. I am a Mechanical Engineer and I walk and stand a lot and these shoes have proved to be really comfortable. They look great over Chinos and Jeans. By the way, I have used them to hike Rocky mountains in mild snow and Ice. After this outing they lasted for another 6 months post which the sole started cracking. I think this sums it all up!.Planning to buy them again and am hoping that the quality has remained the same.

Pretty good shoes.

Slightly difficult to put on and take off compared to sandles. Hopefully they will last longer than my Tevas, which have gone down in quality. In the military, almost everything I owned had 550 cord attached to it, and lasted years. Otherwise, comfortable. I wear 10 1/2, I got 11, fits great.

Very Comfortable Sandal

These sandals are very comfortable to wear. Especially for long periods of time. The way they are made keeps them well attached to your foot without creating any pressure points. Very important if you deal with neuropathy. Great sandals!
