Built to Perform – A Master Electrician’s Go-To Boot

As a master electrician and electrical inspector, I need footwear that’s durable, reliable, and comfortable enough to wear all day—on the job and off. The KEEN Circadia Mid Height Waterproof Boots were a wonderful buy. These boots are built strong, with obvious attention to quality and long-term wear. The waterproofing is solid, which is important for job sites that aren’t always dry or clean. The ankle support and traction are excellent—whether I’m navigating construction sites, climbing ladders, or walking long distances for inspections. And they clean up well, too. What I really appreciate is the versatile style. They don’t just work for the field—they look good enough for casual wear, and the comfort is there for long hours on your feet. It’s a boot that truly fits my lifestyle, professionally and personally. If you’re in the trades or just want a boot that holds up to real work while still looking good, I highly recommend these.

I am not sure about waterproof, but a solid part of boots.

I bought these boots for my son less than 6 months ago. He walks at least 3 miles a day, 6 days a week (besides Saturday to observe the Sabbath and rest). He tends to do most of his walking in the morning through various parks in the neighborhood. At times, he walks through wet grass, mud, and hills. They was a lot he liked about the shoe. The shoe size was just right for his feet. The interior of the boots remained intact over time. The cushioning was great initially, and wore down naturally like any other shoe. He was able to walk the hills with sound traction. On the negative side, I am not really sure about the waterproof claim. After less than 6 months of wear-and-tear, they have really fallen apart. The white stuffing is visible and the entire sole of the shoe are few more walks from completely coming off. All in all, I think the photos speak for themselves. It is noteworthy that it has not rained very much the last 6 months. It has been a favorably warm summer.Overall, he liked the boots. They were comfortable for him to wear at first. Now, they are not longer viable. So, I would recommend these boots for individuals that do not really engage with water.

Trash

Although the sole appears to be of a more natural toe box shape, the design of the upper makes this boot fit like any other conventional boot. Even in a wide size my big toes feel crowded. The sole also feels uncomfortably hard when walking on paved surfaces. My Columbias have a softer sole and the upper is more forgiving in a wide size in my big toes. Also, after about a month of wearing, the rubber toe trim on the upper is cracking.Update:The soles are too stiff and hard to be comfortable for any type of walking including hiking on rocky terrain. The design that's meant to protect toes is what hurts my toes the most.Update:After 5 weeks of daily use, the soles are starting to separate from the upper and the front of the toe box has cracked more (looks dry rotted). I don't know if maybe I'm not heavy enough for these boots but the soles are unbearable stiff and hard. The offer no cushion effect and the thickness of the heels causes discomfort to my Achilles tendon every time my feet strike the ground.Update:After 4 months of use, the soles have separated from the upper in the toe area and the upper material in the toe area is disintegrated.

Hiking Boot That's Comfortable

I bought them to replace a pair of the same because of the great quality and comfort of the first pair I had. I wear them hiking of hills and rocky areas and have had nothing but good to say about them.

This is a recreational boot better in dry climates.

I live in the Pacific NW in a fairly rural area. I only use my boots on the property for about two hours a day when outdoors doing chores. I had earlier bought the weatherproof boots at Costco, but the soles would separate from the tops. This usually happened during the rainy season. You can see I have a lot of grass that I walk through and the grass is seasonally wet. I bought these boots and the same thing started happened. Walking in wet 2 inch high grass started to show signs of separation, which I then used super glue to stop the separation. However you can see that the material is separating. Granted if you live in an urban area and walk on sidewalks you might never have a problem, but just walking in the grass when it is wet creates enough stress to test the bonding of the uppers from the sole. Maybe, if you got some rubber cement, it might work better than super glue. It is expensive to get a good pair of boots where the uppers and lower are stitched together. I would call this more of an urban / dry climate boot. I used to work in the woods 8 - 10 hours a day, on the side of mountains, in all types of terrain and weather, I know how a good work boot holds up. This is a recreational boot better in dry climates.
