Best work shoes I have ever worn.
I'm wearing my 3rd pair of Keen Targhee Vent hiking shoes now. I'm a contractor and work in these shoes on construction sites daily. They are very comfortable and very durable. The toe is nice and roomy and the shoes are light. I prefer the vent over the waterproof shoe to keep my feet cooler and drier. I also wear Darn Tough brand socks every day which helps keep my feet dry. These shoes have also proven to be very durable. I can wear them for a year or more before something finally breaks down or wears out and I need a new pair. These shoes are expensive but, I still believe they provide great value based on the comfort and durability they provide. I can highly recommend the Keen Targhee Vent.

True to size and better quality than previous versions
Somehow these fit perfectly. Ordering shoes online is difficult, but the reviews make all the difference for me. I have worn Keens for 16 years, and these were perfect out of the box. And seem to be a better quality shoe than previous versions that start to come apart fairly quickly with heavy use. Of course, as with just about any shoe these days, I immediately pulled out the worthless insole and put in a $50 one that actually provides some support. Why do they even bother to put one in there? Anyway, after about 50 miles in two weeks of rugged walking, I am very pleased. So signs of wear, and no foot discomfort. Keens are the best, and these are good reps of the brand. Wide toe box, perfect fit if you know your size in this brand - I always wear a half size up because they run small. And for the price on Amazon, these are unbeatable.

Nice but needs work on inside of heel.
Well I am a gym shoe guy for sure and used to get 1-2 years on a pair of gym shoes. That was back in the day. The last 5 years or so your lucky to get 6 months out of them. I usually wear just 1 pair everyday till there shot and then toss them and go on to the next pair.So I decided to buy a more expensive shoe that would hopefully last me a year or two. I bought these in February so there about 5 months old now. There still looking great and were comfortable right from the get go. However after about 2 months the inside of where your heel is, its started tearing and coming apart and Im sure in time it will bother your heel . The outside of the shoe is still great and the usual spot wear the rubber by the toe breaking away on regular gym shoes isnt a problem with these. If anyone from Keen is reading this you need to make the area inside the shoe by the heal more sturdy. I still like these and will probably by them again when needed provided they stand up to about a years worth of use since I would go through 2 sets of gym shoes in that time and its about a wash money wise after that.EDIT/UPDATE 8-18-22:We are at the 6 month point and now the bottoms are starting to separate. So I am gluing them together.EDIT/UPDATE; 02-08-23We are at the one year point so anything after this I will be money ahead over 2 pair of plain gym shoes. Shoe Glue has held from last August. I am getting separation now in the toe area on both sides of both shoes. But the toe is still attached which is key. The heels on the inside continue (although slowly) shred but are not noticeable while wearings the shoes. The thread still has plenty of life left. I am happy with these shoes and with a few minor tweeks from Keen they could be perfect. I will do one more update in the future when they get tossed but that may take a while.LAST EDIT: 10-1-23Last update. Finally tossing them out. They lasted 1 year 8 months with everyday use. Started separating on the side of the toes and the front undersides wore away and are now letting in water when its wet outside. Last 2 pictures will show there condition. All in all it was an experiment to see if they would last longer than a few pairs of gym shoes for the money. I think they held up relatively well since we walk alot with the dog and are very active people. I wish they would make the inside heel material bette r so it didnt rip out quickly. I may buy Keens again some day but will try another brand this next time. Merrels are on deck.

Great shoe, rugged and comfortable!
The shoe has a generous toe box, great arch support, and is ruggedly constructed. They are a little heavier than a running shoe but that’s not a negative.

Excellent value and Great fitting shoe!
Best cushion of all the hikers I own. Ventilated for summer really helps during the hot weather. Very comfortable shoe, lightweight and basically I wear these as an everyday shoe in the summer. These are not waterproof. Tread life is great, and tracking is also excellent. I recommend without reservations or caveats. I hike a lot and go fishing.

A great boot for a hot climate
When I moved to Arizona from the Pacific Northwest, I brought along my water proof leather hiking boots. It didn't take long to realize they were both too hot and that I didn't need water proof boots here. I found that the Keen Targhee Vent Low Height boot has worked great for me in a number of ways. First of all, they are breathable and my feet do just fine with the heat of the desert, although I don't go hiking when it gets up to 115 degrees. I have wide feet and they are one of the few boots that I find are comfortable. The boots also have a sole with enough of a grip that I don't slip on rocks. Some have commented that the soles wear out too quickly. I haven't found that the wear out any faster than other boots thay I've had.
