Holy cow , perfectly comfortable out of the box. Lightweight, looks great, fits perfect with a wide toe box and plenty of arch support with a supportive heal area, trust me these are nice. And true to size I'm a size 10 and these are spot on.
I've encountered several medical issues with my feet and ankles, making the process of finding suitable shoes quite daunting. My left ankle has weakened significantly, and my right heel pad has caused considerable pain, exacerbating balance issues. Admittedly, I've become a fall risk. lolCurrently, I’m wearing Mephisto’s. My experience with Mephisto shoes has been positive in terms of pain relief, but their sneaker options didn't quite meet my aesthetic preferences.Experimenting with various brands like New Balance, Hoka, and Brooks yielded similar results. I've realized I tend to walk with a heavy heel strike, feeling as though my heel bottoms out, especially with softer cushioned shoes. The thicker cushioned shoes caused my ankle to roll. Either shoe may lead my right heel in pain after just a few hours of wear.However, a chance encounter with Keen shoes at a store proved promising. Though initially the waterproof versions have limited in color options, further research revealed another version of this shoe. I decided to give them a try.Upon receiving the Keen shoes, I was pleasantly surprised by the immediate comfort and perfect fit out of the box. The cushioning struck the right balance—firm enough to avoid that sinking feeling yet soft enough for maximum comfort. Additionally, the sole's grip seems promising for addressing potential balance issues. While it's too early to comment on long-term durability, as of now, I wholeheartedly recommend them.
This review is for the Keen VersaCore in black, size 13. This is my first time trying a pair of Keen shoes. I was looking for something that could handle both casual daily wear and occasional trail use without needing to change shoes. These hit that mark.They’re comfortable out of the box, and the fit is interesting. Once laced, they lock in around the ankle in a way that reminds me of laceless muck boots. That secure fit helps prevent blisters and makes them reliable for walking or light hiking.The tread performs well. I’ve tested them on a variety of terrain during a muddy Indiana spring and haven’t had any issues with traction. The black color is also nice, it hides dirt well enough that I don’t feel the need to constantly clean them before heading into town.A couple of drawbacks to mention. These are not waterproof—not even close. At a price point that hovers around $120, I expected at least some water resistance. Also, I typically wear polyester Puma socks from Costco, and I’ve noticed that my feet get pretty hot in these shoes. Not uncomfortable to the point of being a dealbreaker, but I am ready to kick them off at the end of the day. That may not be the case for everyone, but it’s worth mentioning.Overall, I think the shoe looks good and performs well. They’re functional, comfortable, and versatile. The price feels a little steep for what they offer, but I would still recommend them.
This is one of the best every day wear shoes I've ever owned. I walk about 8K steps a day on concrete and the lightweight slip resistant soles look as good as when they were new 6 months ago. The ventilation is the best and my feet never sweat even in the sun with a black shoe. The sole is super stable and flexible at the same time. The price is spot on for an EDW shoe and the sizing is on the button. I installed green SuperFeet for arch support since I have high arches.
Right out of the box I went for a two mile walk and then to the gym. Perfect fit, comfortable and light weight. Keen has become my go to footwear.
Feel great, look great. I generally wear salomon's, but liked the look for a nice casual sneaker without the flash. True to size.
I have been wearing these for a month now and I will say they are very comfortable. I normally wear a firmer sole shoe but do enjoy these. I'm not hiking or doing sports in these, just everyday walking. They breathe very well and are not water resistant at all. Not for rainy days. I find the laces just a little short, but Id buy them again.
