STAYS DRY INSIDE!
After six weeks of Pacific Northwest wet meadows and puddles, the Zionics are still dry inside! They do not use Goretex, but are made with Keen's special material. But even better, the foot bed is super comfortable and supportive. I did add my own fav inserts, which was easy to do. I got a half size larger and it is perfect. This is the higher Zionic version with the ankle support and they are fantastic in my rutty, slippery wet meadow, or on the beach or going up and down 91 slimy railroad tie stairs on the steep hillside trail at Point No Point (yep, I counted them.) And they are lightweight, like a good running or walking shoe. My fancy goretex air hikers, from one of those famous Portland shoe companies, started leaking after a while so I took a chance on Keens. They certainly know a thing or two about water and shoes, and I am so happy they got the foot bed right just like the big guys. Maybe they borrowed some whip smart shoe designers from across town - just sayin'. Anyhow, try out the Zionics, either this version or the lower one, which my wife likes better and switched from her old leaky goretex Ho.., (you know.) BTW, she couldn't find her size in Women's, so she got the equivalent Men's size. Enjoy the Zionics, or send 'em back - both Keen and Amazon stand behind these. Needless to say, I love them and if they ever start leaking, I will modify this review for sure.

Absolutely Phenomenal!
Straight out the box these feel broken in and ready to tackle any terrain. The insole is super bouncy, stable, and all around comfortable. Nice toe box, not too wide or narrow. Excellent arch support! I don’t need to use my Fulton Cork insoles in these!! Passed the waterproof test. Plenty of compliments. I could run ten miles in these. Super flexible sole. Good ankle support as well. It’s hard to impress me and KEEN made a customer for life!

Breathable, low volume, great tread on sole.
Pretty comfortable. They are fairly breathable for waterproof shoes. My feet do not feel hot or clammy for the first few hours of use. The outsole tread on the bottom is pretty grippy and does not collect small rocks due to a more open design. Keen's fit is a hair short for the size. The width is a hair wider than typical. The shoe's volume (height over top of foot) for these shoes is on the low side - there is no way I could fit a better (thicker) insole. That's too bad, because the insole that's provided is paper thin. If you have a high instep like me, size up at least one size. Because the shoes are a hair short for a given size, sizing up for volume does not result in shoes that are too long in length.

Comfortable right out of the box
Love Keen boots and these are no exception. Comfortable right out of the box. I have no issue with the support and like the padded tongue. Pros: this are light weight, super comfortable and have a better lacing system than other Keen boots. Not overly hot for a waterproof boot. Cons: the soles on these are thinner and the insert is thinner. The toe box is not as wide as other Keen boots. Overall I love these!
