Good all-around walking/hiking shoe

I keep buying these whenever they are on sale. I like the fit, wide toe box, waterproof lining and comfort. I does take about 6 months for the sole to loosen up. They are hard if you walk the bike path when new, OK on trail. I think a good price is ~$90.00 as they wear well for a couple of years. I walk the dog 5-7 miles per day. When they wear out, I use them for yard work! Cheap Yankee!

My favorite model from Keen for every day use.

I read about the delamination problems all over the web. While I have always thought I am very abusive on my every day shoe I use for gallivanting around the city, working around the house, walking the dogs daily, and light trails near the home, I suppose there are some that are even more abusive than me. I have not experienced any worse breakdown on materials than other top named hiking shoe brands I have owned. The soles are adequately grippy, which I love because they don’t slip as easily on wet flat rocks/stones on trails crossing creek beds as I have experienced on my Moab 3’s, X Ultra 4’s, and Sawtooth X’s, but the trade off is the tread wears faster then others. But to keep me safe from falling and injuring my 56 yo body, I’ll take that trade off any day off the week. I have a little bit wider foot so I absolutely love the bigger toe box, and the heel lock design keeps my toes from smashing into the front of the shoe when on sharper declines. I’ve tried the newer Targee II’s and IV’s but I prefer the Circadia design over Keens other models. The shoe is super comfy right out of the box and I hear there is no break in period, It does take about a week or so before I would say they fit like a glove. I tend to get 3 or so years out of them before they are retired for a new pair. For me, it’s a wonderful shoe and I’ll continue to be a returning customer as long as the quality of the Circadia model remains top notch.

Great shoes, but concern about how long they last

I have had these Keen hiking shoes for 9 months now and overall really like them. They are true to size and fit well, are comfortable, and I like the large toe cap which has protected me from many a stubbed toe over the last 9 months since I started wearing them. These are the first Keens I have bought since switching over from another great brand, I’ll call it “Brand M”.So why 1 star off from a perfect score when I just told the world how great they are?The concern I have is that recently, on both shoes, the glue holding the soles on has started to fail so that a large gap is appearing where the sole is starting to separate from the shoe. This is somewhat disappointing since otherwise these have been great shoes. I have tried gluing the soles back where they are separated using a product called shoe goo. You can see in the photo where I glued them. I’m giving them a full 72 hours (3 days) for the glue to dry fully, then will try them again. Hopefully I can get a lot more use out of them since everything else is still in great condition and with a premium brand like Keen I expect more than 9 months out of a pair of shoes.Crossing my fingers - I really like these and don’t want to go back to Brand M.

Looks like a sloppy re-glue fix

these are really comfortable and I'm totally bummed that the quality is not what it should be for a brand new keen shoe... It didn't have the new shoe smell that all of my other keens have had right out of the box and the shoe itself appears to have been handled or messed with and possibly cleaned up and made to look new again? It just reminded me of shoes that had just been put in a box and shipped to me rather than being new from the factory... And the box looks like it's fallen down a couple of staircases so I don't think these are brand new shoes that I was sent... These look like they have been refurbished or repaired and should be sold as secondhand or blems.Other than that super comfortable and I'm not sure I'll give this seller a second chance. It just seems kind of crappy that this type of quality would be sent out as a new shoe...

Very tough and comfortable

Nice and wide and very durable with well thought out Keen appointments. This brand has never disappointed me. I put roughly 2miles on them everyday and they are still as comfortable as day 1 out of the box. There is no break in period with these. For being waterproof which they are the venting on top really keep your feet cool. Would highly recommend Keen shoes. A rare American shoe company that is a leader in innovation and execution

Do not last long

Lasted one year of almost daily use around town (not hiking). Not terrible, but not great either. Now they have holes in the middle of soles (water comes in) and are coming apart in several places.
