Way cool shoes

These boots are IT. Stop... I can't call them boots because every boot I have ever worn has sucked compared to my weekend shoes. Especially considering that these are also not a soft toe. I have bought steel toe boots and shoes and have never kept them because my foot feels like it's in a toe corset. You may be into that, but it doesn't turn me on. Starting from the bottom, the soles don't have deep grooves in them hold enough mud to build a hut. The reason for the shallow grooves is because the shoes dissipate static electricity which is awesome if you hate having static cling shirts, and sucks if you like to drag your feet across the carpet and zap your boss on the ear with a static bomb. They are also oil and slip resistant which I don't think I have needed yet, but maybe that's because I didn't slip because of them and I just never knew it. The laces are smart because I have to pull my shoes off and on a dozen times a day and it sucks having to tie my shoes (because my feet are a lot further away then when I was young) that much. They're easy on, easy off without them feeling sloppy when I'm just walking straight. The toe is aluminum which means I can melt them down someday and get some of my money back, but it also means that it will keep my little piggies together as a family unit but not have the excessive weight of steel toes. Don't get me wrong these shoes are hefty and substantial (like my other ex-wife). What's the downside of these shoes? The color choices aren't great in my mind. I think they're almost punitive colors for the decerning man that wants to wear safety shoes with it being like the pocket protector of shoe wear. The shoes have a reflective border. "Reflective" does not convey the magnitude of reflectiveness. If alien life in a galaxy thousands of light years away finds our little planet... I'm guessing this shoe will be why. So it's a comfortable & safe shoe that needs a facelift. They don't' give us enough letters in this review to be able to typ

Great for wide feet

This is a great work shoe, very comfortable and the width is great for people with a wide foot. These shoes lasted about a year and a half before getting uncomfortable. I am on my feet about 7 hours per day and they held up great on concrete flooring.

Buyer beware!!

It is a comfortable shoe, but sadly it will not pass a heal check station. I will not buy this shoe again.

not heavy duty

Keen makes good shoes, and I'm not going to put this shoe down. I work as a carpente and bought a pair thinking they would be a lightweight alternative to a more rugged work boot. But these are really more intended for people working in factories, machine shops, garages etc. Just not heavy duty or rugged enough to wear on a jobsite. The fabric wore off the toe very quickly and then the sole separated. I don't really think this as much as issue of the quality of the shoe, than me trying to make it do a job it's not designed for.

Very comfortable rugged shoe. Great for work and for hiking.

I wear these shoes pretty much every day. I am on my feet almost all day on concrete floors. When I first received them they felt as if they may be too heavy but that hasn't been a problem. They do have the aluminum toe caps so a little extra weight but not much.Fit was excellent to the size I ordered. My wife is not crazy about the colors, not so much a problem for me. They broke in easily ( couple of days) and have been nothing but comfortable. My job takes me into dusty, dirty plants. The shoes do get dirty but a run through the washer and they look new again.I also wear these shoes when hiking. The souls are rugged and grip well on loose or wet surfaces. The aluminum toe really helps when hiking if you run into a rock. No pain!I will certainly buy another pair of these when these finally wear out.

Busted Sole Less than 90 days Old

Purchased in October. Very comfortable, lightweight shoe as always from Keen. I've always held a strong preference for this brand. However I noticed over the past few days one of my feet gets wet if I step in water whereas the other does not. When I got to work this morning I inspected the sole to find that it had COMPLETELY split! Not at all what I expected as far as durability goes from one of my favorite brands. Hopefully there is some kind of warranty or quality guarantee that will cover them. $90 is a bit much for shoes that barely last three months without a catastrophic breakdown. I'm going to give Keen the benefit of the doubt and say this one was simply defective. Three stars is really a stretch for my experience as I sit at my desk at work with one sopping wet foot.
