The first work footwear to meet all my needs
I'm an electrician, who does industrial, commercial, and residential, and data. New construction, remodel and mostly service work. When working in factories, I have to have safety toe shoes. When working a new construction, I need safety shank shoes. And while doing residential service work, I need shoes that are easy to take on and off. Residential customers prefer you not to be barefoot or tromping around in filthy footwear inside thier home. Newly purchased work shoes start as house shoes. After a year, they become outside /factory/ jobsite shoes. Then my home shop shoes, then garden, then they are trashed. So I get about 4 years of service from these. I take 15,000 to 20,000 steps a day so my shoes get a workout. KEEN utility vista energy fit all my work needs. I appreciate the safety of the carbon toe without having the weight or coldness of steel and the slip-resistant sole whileworkingin factories. I find these comfortable, easy to slip on and off and I appreciate the lack of leather.

Saved some toes wearing these!
Reinforced toe shoes are notoriously uncomfortable. These are not. But more than that - these shoes saved a set of toes when a trim box full of electrical equipment fell off a load. Walked away with some light bruises and even the shoe is fine. Yep - would buy again.

No Comfort, Bad Toe
I was looking forward to these shoes because I own 5 different pairs of Keen shoes, sandals, and work boots. I am a construction manager and wanted something easier to slip on when I get to a jobsite. When I got them, I liked the look, but once I put them on, I was not excited anymore. Firstly, the neoprene upper part rolled back into itself and I had to yank it to lay flat on my front ankle each and every time. Second, I could really feel the composite toe and it was very uncomfortable. I knew that would bother me after being on a jobsite all day. When I buy work boots, the toe has to have a smooth transition from the hard edge of the top cap to the soft boot/shoe. This was far from that. Lastly, the footbed was not very supportive, it was loose and uncomfortable. Not like my other Keens. Work shoes/boots need to be comfortable as you’re on your feet a lot and walking on uneven and loose surfaces. These are a hard no for me. I do not recommend these shoes.

Durable and comfortable safety shoe!
Keen is a top brand and standing all day is hard on your feet. The most comfortable safety shoe I have worn! I have wide feet and this is perfect for my hard to fit feet.

Poor build quality
The shoe is nice and comfortable but the build quality is subpar for such an expensive item. It is a lightweight shoe that fits more like a barefoot shoe. And offers a good wide toe box. But here’s the kicker I’ve worn these shows maybe 4 times to work since I’ve purchased them, zero wear on the soles and the entire sole has come unglued on both shoes.
