Seems most don't like this purple color, I but I LOVE IT, and especially the black treaded sole; I think they're FUN. But MOSTLY I wanted an easy walking sandal for summer that would withstand a little rain n water, and THESE ARE DESIGNED for that, as well as light hiking in lightly wooded areas, through puddles, etc... BUT THEN, they are also PERFECT for trekking into TOWN. I find the arch support PERFECT; so comfortable, and the grib of the tread is SO great that you feel secure and know you won't slip. They have amazing adjustability of all 3 straps that snug my low-volume, narrow heeled slim feet. Heel strap felt iffy, but upon walking w serious pace, they keep my foot sufficiently in place.I haven't tested them for 'hiking' but have walked the trails of Prospect Park at a nice clip and the airy-ness and sprint n comfort were JUST A DELIGHT. I tried the 6.5 and then 7 as my toes were a tad close to the edge. BOTH work, and I may just buy up whichever sizes are on sale. So far I have the purple, the black *.5) and spicy orange (in 7) . I am SO excited to have summer sandals that will keep me cool, comfortable and protected and SECURE should I encounter rain or wanna do some unlikely, though adventurous traipsing through creeks n streams down the road.GREAT GREAT GREAT sandals. I LOVE THE HEEL LIFT, as well....It's very subtle, but provides much appreciated support and CUSHION underfoot . PLEASE, KEEN, do NOT DISCONTINUE THIS SANDAL, and PLEASE NEVER EVER ABANDON this amazing ASTORIA WEST style which I've now seen in a closed sandals and the Uneek; it is PERFECT for those w slightly narrow foot shapes, who also enjoy and or BENEFIT from the heel/sole height. Finally, please forgive my messy, crack-heeled, unwieldy, band-aid-covered toes... I hadn't planned to take pics, but was in such bliss as I wore them out to the Park for their inaugural run, that I threw caution and vanity to the wind.
ObsessedThese are by far the most comfortable sandals I have ever owned.Right out of the box, I could walk 20k steps without a single blister or discomfort on my feet.I have used them to walk in the beach and you can walk easily on dry sand, or more difficult parts without any issue. I also used them as an every day sandal on the city, and to work. When I use them all day, my feet do get a bit sweaty but, sincerely the comfort is such that I just don't mind this.It have soft cushioned parts against the foot and you can adjust the straps. I however think these are more suitable for high Arch. They do fit on the snuggle part, and for these kind of sandals I think it's for the best. They are also really easy to clean with a brush soap and water.I will buy another pair no doubt.
I've been wearing KEEN shoes for a lot of years and probably experienced the entire spectrum from terrible to wonderful but these have got to be right up toward the top and now living in Arizona and needing something that won't kill my feet by being without any decent support yet getting air to them is really becoming quite the challenge. However with these I'm pretty confident I will like them and for a reason I had not expected. Okay let's get past the obvious ... they're not the prettiest thing that you're ever going to look at but you're not going to have to bother with those toggles that are always loosening and then tightening them trying to find the right tension for the entire foot, which is probably impossible when you think about it. Having three straps that you can adjust as needed is brilliant. My left foot swells to the point it's like a half size larger so this is wonderful. Okay looks aside, this plain Jane feels really good because the construct is unlike the usual Newports or other classic sandals which I always have in my arsenal of footwear. They are usually rather flat and the footbed is I think becoming harder and harder on your feet as the different styles come out year after year. I appreciate all the recycling you do but I think it's taking a toll on people's feet. Once you've had a full-on plantar fasciitis attack your feet just are not the same and you never want to feel the hint of that pain in your heel again. The classic KEEN sandals bring that on if I'm in them for very long. When I was recovering from plantar I discovered Telic sandals during my recovery. They were like a miracle for those first steps of the day out of bed. Just by rocking back and forth on them I could massage gently those plantar muscles until I could actually start walking again. If you know that feeling about stepping down on a footbed that causes a responsive arch support to rise up to your foot ... that's what it feels like to walk in these. I was a little concerned about the higher heel because that offsets the balance of your body and it's really not the best heel drop for walking shoes, but this is for around the house and just getting out and about now and then. With each step I take on our tiled floors it feels good, my arch actually feels supported in a way that no other KEEN sandals have for me, and the extra cushion in the heel feels like you have a heel cup on. It's all very comfy and I'm liking that. So with that cushion give on the heel and I'm on my feet standing still longer than I may want to That will actually even out the overall weight balance. Now this is just my first response after having them on my feet about an hour. If that should change in the days to come I will update this, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to like these shoes.Oh another thing I really appreciate is the fabrication inside that will be rubbing on the top of your foot. It's nice and soft and user friendly. Many of my go-to shoes over the years like Asics and others have really taken a dive when it comes to the fabrication especially on the interior. If you always wear socks well good for you, but in Arizona we don't always want to be wearing socks. Today is 107 with 7% humidity. You do not want to be wearing socks in that. But then on these other brands I mentioned they were rubbing my foot raw from cheap design and cheap fabrication. The main thing that made this four star instead of five was the width. You can see in my third photo how my foot overflows the footbed and I'm not even standing. So I'm really excited about finding these, KEEN peeps! You may be seeing more of me! 😉
These are the BEST, not usually quick to write reviews. Wore them today, after receiving them yesterday. Best water shoe ever. Doing shallow water aerobics (not my first choice). These have 3 Velcro straps and fit my 80 year old, bunion strange feet like no other. Good fit, stay on in the water, flat on the bottom and don’t interfere with buoyancy. Easy to wear from the pavement to the pool. Easy on and off. Another superior product from Keen.
This is my first time trying Keen sandals . The arch support feels great. I really appreciate the triple adjustable straps. You can tighten your feet to be snug against the arch. I have plantar fasciitis and am glad I found these comfortable sandals. My heel is cushioned and supported well. Heel strap is soft padded and I like the feel when I walk. I would definitely buy again and recommend Keen sandals.
