Good lightweight winter boot
Update Feb 2025: the traction on these is fantastic. My office’s parking lot turns into a skating rink during winter weather, and I haven’t fallen since buying these. I wouldn’t guarantee that you’ll never fall, but it’s a lot less likely. They’re warm enough where you usually don’t need to wear very thick socks. I don’t wear these daily but I do wear them anytime it snows, and this pair is still going strong. They still look and feel just as nice as the first time I wore them. This is a great investment if you’re needing a pair of winter boots.I am very happy with these boots. Normally, I wear a 6.5, but based off of other reviews I bought a 7. I’m glad I did but depending on the width of your foot and the weight of your sock, you may want to go a full size up. For reference, I have a narrow foot, high arches, and prefer to wear cold weather boot socks (thermal socks that are thicker than the merino hiking ones but not as thick as heavyweight socks.) These are a little tight in the toebox with my thermal socks, but I know they will stretch a little, so I’m content with that. Didn’t see it in any of the other reviews, but these do have a gusseted tongue. This is a key feature if you don’t want snow sneaking in through the tongue. Ankle hits at the exact height I wanted, about 3 inches above my ankle bone. The “puffy jacket” feature on the back makes these very flexible and easy to move in, right out of the box. The D-rings do make it tough to tighten these as much as I am used to, but it does make it more forgiving on the tops of my feet. Usually the first few weeks of a new pair of boots can have my feet a little sore on top, but I’m not going through that with these boots. My feet slide a little in the ankles, but I’m okay with it. They are very easy to slip on and off and quick to tie. They weigh about the same as an average pair of hiking boots - not as heavy as a pair of children’s snow boots, not as light as a sneaker. The tread seems like it will keep me from slipping and sliding on the ice - I will update if I get different results. They do seem to scuff easily, but if that is your concern you probably aren’t considering these boots anyway. The thermal insoles feel very comfortable. The boots are only 200g of insulation, but I feel like it is what I need. For the last couple of years, I had just been wearing non-insulated waterproof work boots with thick socks. I have a job where I’m in the office about 70% of the time, and out on construction sites the other 30% of the time. So I wanted something that would keep my toes from going numb in a couple of inches of snow, without making my feet sweat indoors or being too dramatic about the snow (i.e. no faux fur on the cuff. I’m not going on an arctic expedition here.) Your mileage may vary if you plan to sit very still outside and enjoy the beauty of nature for hours on end. If that’s your plan, I recommend trying the mid calf Revel Polar Keens. Keen has that one listed on their site as 400g insulation. Amazon has that same boot listed as 200g insulation, so who is to say what is going on there. Anyway the Greta boots are going to be my go to boot from September through May for the next couple of years at least.

Super comfy warm boots; Keen is the BEST!
This is my 2nd pair of Keen snow boots. My first pair have been worn all winter long for so many years I can’t even remember. I’m a size 6 & the 6 fits me perfectly. Nice & snug, like my feet are being hugged. (I hate boots that have too much space inside. My foot feels very secure in these boots.) I can wear them with regular socks or thicker ski socks. They’re so comfortable that driving in them is no problem. They feel like high top sneakers, with ankle support. They keep my feet warm in negative temperatures hiking outside for hours & around the mountain to go skiing. One thing I have noticed is that if I’m just standing on snow in negative temps for hours to watch my son’s ski race on the mountain, my toes did get cold after a couple of hours. They do much better keeping your feet warm when you’re moving. They have a thick tread, which truly helps with stability in super snowy/icy conditions. I highly recommend these Keen snow boots. You will not be disappointed. Also, the seller got them to me earlier than promised, which is greatly appreciated. Highly recc the seller (OutlandUSA.com) as well, thank you!

Comfy w/ Nice Arch Support
Updating my rating to 5 stars. I purchased the black pair and was pleasantly surprised to find an extra pair of brown shoelaces included— which I love. I had already started shopping for a more neutral pair of laces on Amazon because I do not care for the blue ones shown in photos. The dark brown gives just enough contrast while still allowing the boot to go with just about everything. Failed to mention in my earlier review that the fabric padding at the top of the boot is really comfortable. Tried the newer version of this boot which has the wool and flannel fabric but did not like. This fabric is more like your nylon/down winter coat. Per comments that Keens are running narrower, I agree — and am happy because my feet are no longer swimming around their boots. I have two other pairs of ankle boots in the Greta WP line, and also love their fit, support, and warmth. Hopefully Keen will start offering different widths because their wp boots really handle winter and wet weather nicely.

Warm am very comfortable
These are very comfortable, and warm. They are also not bulky and heavy like other winter boots I’ve had. They are flexible and great to walk in but also great for snow, nonskid and warm. Wore them in 8° weather and snow — walking for several hours —my feet stayed warm and comfortable and dry. Highly recommended.

These boots are toasty
I live in a tropical country but moving to a place with really bad winters. Though I haven’t tried them in actual subzero temperatures, I strongly believe these will be more than enough to keep my feet warm. Like holy cow, they are toasty. I couldn’t keep them on too long because I could feel actual heat radiating from my feet like I was walking on hot sand. Definitely too warm even for 0C / 32F.As for the fit, I just followed the guide on Keen’s official website. Didn’t need to size up. The interior is padded, so even if you wear thick wool socks, it feels as though your feet are being hugged. They’re heavy and difficult to walk in, but a couple of days of constant use and I will probably get used to the weight.

Runs small!
These boots are really cute and relatively comfortable straight out of the box. However, they run very small. I wear a size 10 in the Keen Whisper Sandals (which for perfectly), so I got these in a 10 as well. I tried them on with thin socks and my toes pressed up uncomfortably against the end of the boot. Thicker socks? No way. The boots are cute though, and comfortable despite being so small. I might go up to a size 11 if they're ever back in stock. TLDR: but at least 1/2 to 1 full size up fr what you usually wear!
