Best. shoe. ever
This is my third pair of Keen's Venice sandals, and if I could afford it, I'd buy 5 more pairs. I've never had such a comfortable shoe before.I recently had foot surgery and am still in recovery, so I don't fit into any of my other shoes just yet. These are the only shoes that fit. (Which is why I bought these - just wanted another color...) However, they also give incredible arch support so the pressure on my foot is well supported, and these are currently the only shoes I can wear without needing pain meds. They fit quite well - the toe box is nice and wide without being clunky. The quality of construction is quite high - I usually walk 5 miles a day in these, so they get alot of wear and tear - and these just never seem to wear out. They never slip off my foot, I can wear them with or without socks without feeling much difference in the fit, and they look darn nice. I even wear them through the winter in upstate NY.Great shoe - I should have listened to my mother and bought good quality shoes a long time ago.....then I wouldn't have needed foot surgery.

Give them a chance
I put these on out of the box and initially hated the way they felt. I decided to sleep on it and try them again later. The next time I put them on I messed around a lot with the elastic. Once I found the right adjustment, these immediately became my favorite shoes. I can't believe I didn't like them. I only needed to adjust once and kept it that way, not every time. There was no need to "break in". I ordered a 7.5 even though I typically wear a 7 because the heel strap doesn't adjust and I didn't want my toes smashed up against the front. Glad I did this. 7 would just be too tight. My second toe is longer than my big toe and there is plenty of room with no rubbing on the toe box. I have boney feet and these provide enough cushion and don't rub even though they are just a bit loose. I have worn these for walking 2-3 miles at a time and they are comfortable with no foot pain or blisters. They slip on pretty easily but I do find that I often have to grab the little strap on heel to pull it completely up. There is a small arch support to the footbed. It is not quite as much as an athletic shoe but better than some other sandals. I was afraid toe box would be bulky or clunky but it is not. I think the photo looks more green olive where my shoes look more brown olive. Very neutral. I bought a pair of crocs sandals (not the classic clogs) which I liked a lot until I got these. These just seem nicer to wear to restaurants, etc. If you want some versatile and comfortable sandals I would give these a chance.

Excellent Sandal: Great in a casual office, on city streets, or mountain hiking
This is an excellent sandal. The sole is durable, the protected toe is fantastic for wet or rocky conditions, the footbed is so comfortable you can wear them all day long, the straps allow sufficient adjustability, the open plan allows plenty of airflow, and the leather upper is stylish enough to wear most places. The only cons are that the sole is slightly slippery on smooth wet surfaces, so not perfect for people with brittle bones, and the footbed doesn't breath as much as my sweaty feet would like (they get a bit warm under tropical conditions). The leather upper can take a while to dry when they get wet, but there is webbing between it and the top of your foot so it isn't icky. I usually wear a 9, but find the 9.5 roomy enough for fat socks without being too loose without socks.I got these to use as my only shoes when traveling for casual business meetings; I can wear them for a meeting (in jean pants) during the morning and also to hike in the afternoon. Slip on a thick sock and they are fine in the rain or when the temperatures drop. I've used them for about a year now and love them.

Run short and very wide.
I bought these sandals for trail use, wanted a protective & supportive closed toe sandal. These are all that. Yet, not entirely as expected due to the choices I made when ordering. I'm keeping them because I don't have time or opportunity to get something that more closely meets my needs.Normally I wear a 10 or 10.5, but I bought a size 11 on the advice of someone who has them. The length in this larger size is more like I'd expect in a 10.5. It leaves plenty of room for socks but (thankfully), doesn't require them for over-all comfort. My one outright complaint is that in a size 11 the toe box has a very sloppy fit, which is surprising as my foot is sort of wide (not fat), spread out from a lifetime of going barefoot most of the time at home, in the yard, driving and in the car, even dancing at parties and concerts, etc. I'm usually barefoot at home or wearing just light socks in the North East US winter! So, my foot is straight, not pinched from having been always confined in narrow-toed shoes, though I can wear them if they're well-made and not "pointy".I'd say these sandals may indeed run a very little bit short, as they're not overly long as closed shoes, but they're unquestionably 'way too wide! I had considered ordering a 10.5 to allow for heavy socks on the trail, until i read they ran short and i figured the size 11 would be fine if normally size 10 or 10.5 hiking shoes work for me. I wish I'd stuck with my first impulse. A 10.5 would have been a much better fit, and the toe box wouldn't have been as loose. I really hate that! I'm hoping that they'll break-in and i can tighten up the toe width. I'm not at all happy with the fit, but it was better than the other pair I ordered, so I kept these.Having said that, i'd hasten to add that they aren't uncomfortable, and I don't think they'd give me blisters on the bottom of my feet or anything, but I'll definitely need a good pair of socks on the trail or when walking all day, which defeats their purpose as a sandal. And, I Ordered a blue color. These are sort of an olive green, which is an OK color, but they're definitely not blue! And they have garish yellow soles, which is really unattractive.I'd rate these 3 for fit, 4 for comfort, and they're light and well-made.Would I biuy thrm again? Probably not.And under the circumstances they're on the expensive side. Especially as I still need sandals thayt fit properly.Try them on and leave yourself time to return them, or buy several pairs to find one that fits, and send the others back
