The Women's KEEN Hightrail Mid Height Durable Insulated hiker is all it claims to be. The boot is supportive around the ankle and well padded. The toe bed is slightly wider which makes wearing thick socks possible and provides breathability so your feet stay warm but not sweaty. The traction on the sole is perfect for icy, snowy conditions.I drive school bus and this morning we woke up to a wintry wonderland with snow and black ice. A perfect day to try these boots out. I was surprised how much support they provide, but especially around the ankle. I felt secure with every step and never worried about rolling my ankles. They absolutely kept my feet and toes warm and dry on this 20°F (12°F real feel) day! I wear smartwool or merino wool socks in the winter. They were perfect in these boots. I wore these boots all day and my feet never hurt. In fact, I didn't want to take them off!I'm very happy with these boots and would recommend them to anyone who needs a solid insulated hiking boot for the winter specifically. If you're lookingvf
I didn't care for these boots. They did t have enough support for my foot and in fact they had a lot less support than my ASIC sneakers which are the best I've ever worn. These Keen boots just weren't right for my feet but they were nice looking and well made so I'm sure they'd be perfect for people that don't have feet as delicate as mine.
The KEEN Women’s Hightrail Mid-Height Snow Boots are clearly built for cold, wet conditions. The waterproof leather combined with KEEN.DRY membrane keeps feet dry even in snow and slush, while the 200g KEEN.WARM insulation is rated down to -25°F (-32°C), making them genuinely warm without overheating when wearing thinner winter socks. The boots have excellent traction thanks to the rubber sole with multidirectional lugs, and the supportive ankle padding and stability shank give confidence on icy or uneven terrain.Fit is something to pay attention to: the boots are roomy in the toe box, accommodating thicker socks, but some users found the ankle area snug, so sizing up by half a size may be wise, especially if you wear Smartwool or merino socks. Overall, these boots are surprisingly lightweight for insulated winter boots and are comfortable for all-day wear, making them suitable for hiking, commuting, or any snow activity. The attention to materials—like Leather Working Group certified leather—and the thoughtful design make them feel premium and durable.Pros: Warm, waterproof, supportive, good traction, comfortable for long wear, high-quality materials.Cons: Ankle area can feel tight, top speed hook lacing requires careful threading.
I should preface this review by saying that I've only worn these shoes a couple of times so far, so they may not be properly broken in.However, I am not very please with the way that these fit. I ordered a pair in my usual shoe size, but they were almost painfully tight around my ankles. Even without lacing the top notch, my ankles were being squeezed the entire time I wore these. I ended up with chafing after just a short 1.5 mile walk.If you're considering getting a pair, I would recommend going up 1/2 size from your usual. On a positive note, these shoes look very nice and they have good grip on the bottoms. There is also decent arch support and they seem to have a good angle for upward climbs. The materials seem fairly high-quality as well.I didn't have a very good experience with these shoes, but perhaps if I ordered a bigger size, it would be a different story.3/5 stars.
Runs too small. Not wide width like other keens.
This is the first time that I am trying out Keen shoes and after doing a bit of research on them they seem to be a well-known brand and great hiking shoes. I go on baby trails so just a little walking around a huge park basically. Not doing any mountain climbing over here and these were find for that! My right foot has a horrible tendency where my Achilles rubs against the back of any shoes that I wear and it cause sores to form. It’s very unpleasant and has led me to wear open back shoes a lot of the time. I did not have that issue with this one as this shoe has a bit of room in the back where it cushions instead of digs. I haven’t rolled my ankles yet another issue that I tend to have, and so far these are very comfy!!
